You learn something new everyday. I have a new client “Gus the pyrepoodle”. Pyre poodles are a Great Pyrenees and Poodle cross. Gus is a sweetheart and learning how to be a dog and loving all the treats and walks and new things like stairs and grass that he’s never experienced before.

Today is one of my client’s birthdays so we had a birthday party 🥳 🎉 🎈 .

My client made a cake all of the dogs could eat (recipe in the comment section) and we sang 🎶 Happy First Birthday 🎂 to Ellie.

Walks are about more than exercise — for dogs, only hanging out in a backyard is like reading the same book again and again.

Pet nutrition is very important. You can pay for a high quality food or you can pay for it in vet care as your pet ages.

Highly processed pet foods (kibble) contain chemicals called advanced glycation end products due to the way the kibble is cooked at a high temperature. It may taste great but triggers aging, inflammation, allergy & cancer. Knowing they are there helps us defeat their monstrous health consequences (cancer, arthritis, kidney and other diseases). A higher quality kibble, cooked dog food or if you’re so inclined to go raw are all much better than a cheaper highly processed dog food you find at the grocery store or the cheapest one at the pet store.

Please be careful at dog parks and other places dogs can congregate. This respiratory illness is nothing to sniff about...

Please be careful at dog parks and other places dogs can congregate. This respiratory illness is nothing to sniff about. Make sure your dogs have their current vaccinations for canine influenza, Bordetella and parainfluenza.

Symptoms include coughing, sneezing, eye or nose discharge and lethargy.

Since it is contagious, you may want to avoid being with other doggies. If you go regularly to daycare or board at kennels you might want to stay home and have a dog walker come by instead.”
