This is Boston! We are shocked that this special guy is still here. Boston is an adorable oversized Boston Terrier mix who is tons of fun and super friendly. He would love someone who enjoys outdoor activities and playing with toys. He happily sits for treats and is eager to please so he'll quickly learn new tricks and manners. Meet Huck! Huck is the definition of a chill hound! He loves to go on walks and is wonderful on a leash. He wants attention from everyone he meets and hasn't met a dog friend he doesn't like. He is truly the perfect dog and all the volunteers and staff adore him. Huck enjoys the company of other dogs and would do great with another dog enjoying bouncy play or just lying around in the shade with other calm dogs. If you don't have other dogs, he would be thrilled to curl up on the couch with you and your family and meet all your friends! Huck seems overly interested in cats, so very slow introductions would be necessary. Huck was recently in foster in an apartment and it was too hectic for him. He would prefer to be in a quieter environment with less chaos. Huck is already neutered, microchipped and current on all his vaccinations. He is waiting for you! Meet Duncan! This adorable tripod is friendly, loves to play, and enjoys head rubs. Duncan loves long walks as well where he can explore. Duncan came to us as a stray with his front left leg amputated, but we unfortunately do not know why. This however does not slow this big boy down. He would be an amazing hiking partner! He is incredibly sweet with every person he has met, even when he was scared of the new environment. Unfortunately, Duncan was adopted and had to be returned due to fights with the resident dog, so we are recommending he be an only dog. His adopter was so sad to bring him back and wrote this about him: “Duncan, AKA Dunky Bear and Funky Dunky, is the sweetest, most loyal, and loving 3-legged wonder you'll ever meet. Duncan truly defies all odds with his personality being so pure, while missing a whole limb! Duncan LOVES attention and cuddles, and despite his size, thinks he's a teeny tiny lap dog! He will lick you to death, so you don't have to worry about bath time anymore (for his humans at least), because someone isn't a fan of bath time for himself! Meet Ravi, Peyton, and Blaine! Ravi is a lively and spirited male tabby kitten (with lots of white), Peyton is a delightful black and white female kitten (with an adorable pink nose), and Blaine is a spirited calico female kitten. These three and their brother were brought into the shelter with their mom. They enjoy playing with each other but are in need of socialization and can be a bit skittish, scratching to get away when they feel threatened or scared. With the right socialization and care, they have the potential to become wonderful and affectionate companions - their brother is thriving in a foster to adopt home with an adult cat and dog! Beautiful Jude! Jude is looking for a new foster to avoid coming back to the shelter. She is a pup who declines rapidly in the kennel at the shelter. Here is what her current foster says about this sweet, spunky gal: Miss Jude is the sweetest pup. She only seems to want to be near you at all times. She loves to give kisses by licking your feet/legs/hands. She also loves to play! Given her age though, she still has some puppy inside so her playing can get a little rough if you don't redirect her attention to a squeaky toy or a chew toy. She does jump when she is excited, especially when you get home. She loves going for evening walks. I highly recommend daily evening walks to calm her down for bedtime.I also recommend crating her when you leave the house for an extended period of time - she will get bored and find something to chew that you may not want destroyed (puppy behavior). All these little behaviors can be fixed with training.Jude deserves a home with an active family who can handle her strength and exuberance. She loves to cuddle and snuggle on the couch during down time. She also sleeps in the bed with me, which I love.Miss Jude does have minor upset tummy issues, but that has not been a problem since I bought her food for stomach sensitivities.Wherever Jude goes next, I know she will show you what a good girl she is and how she deserves someone to love her with kindness and patience. Meet Burly! What a sweet boy! He is a large, goofy guy who loves walks and attention. Despite being so big and strong, he is surprisingly gentle taking treats. Once his nose hits the ground he is on the move. He loves new smells and places to explore. He will happily return to you for treats. His next favorite thing to do is sit on your lap. He loves affection! Burly would love a fenced-in yard or frequent leash walks for exercise and enrichment. Burly is a happy dude who loves to have fun! He loves to run and play with toys. Meet Lyra! She is an intelligent lady who enjoys leisurely walks with a friend. As soon as her leash is on, Lyra is ready to get caught up on the latest pee-mail. She bounces from one smell spot to the other. Exploring is one of her favorite things. She is very smart and knows sit/down. She will do anything for a treat. We are sure she would love to learn new tricks, and would do so very quickly. We don't know what this girl has been through in her short life, but she seems to have had a rough go at it. Lyra doesn’t care for strangers, but we’ve been able to win her over with treats…I’m sure you can too! Since being here, she has opened up to some of the staff and volunteers. After she’s gone for a walk, she enjoys a snuggle with one of her friends. Lyra would like a home without children since she prefers the company of patient adults. We will use this grant to fund supplies used for playgroups for our dogs, including collars, leashes, pools, a shade tent, and items to keep the dogs and volunteers safe. Meet Arnie! Arnie was very timid at first, but he’s come out of his shell and enjoys going for sniffy walks and eating every last treat and crumb in our pockets. His favorite thing to do is raid the volunteers’ treat pouches! Arnie has some cute quirks that make him the unique guy that he is. We’re not sure if he’s aspiring to be an acrobatist or a parkourist, but we still love him the same. He loves to bounce, skip, and jump with glee on his walks. He also loves to play with his dog friends at the shelter, so if you have another pup, please reach out to us for a meet & greet. Give this sweet boy a chance. Meet Flower! This lovely lady has won over our staff and volunteers with her sweet and lovable personality. Flower loves going for sniffy walks with her friends. She will happily perform a sit and clean up any crumbs left on the floor.She has lived with and done well with kids 6 and 8 years old. She is very housetrained. Like most of us, Flower doesn't like being barked at. Who can blame her... she's frustrated and stressed out by her loud kennel neighbors.
