Cooper the lab has been so fun to work with and we know is going to be the star dog thier owners are dying for! They want to share life with Cooper in as many ways as possible. THey also want and need him to be incredibly mannered everywhere they go but of course aat home too.

Having a well behaved dog who knows the rules and expectatiosn of life is essential to have peace in your day with a dog.

Candy season is here, and that can mean extra risk for our dogs.
Even small amounts of certain sweets can be dangerous.

🚫 Keep these away from your dog:

Chocolate (especially dark or baking chocolate)

Sugar-free gum or candy with xylitol

Raisins

Hard candies or candy corn

✅ Safer treat options:

Plain pumpkin puree

Dog-safe biscuits

Frozen banana pieces

Peanut butter (xylitol-free)

If you have kids or guests bringing in candy, make sure to keep it stored up high and teach your dog a solid “leave it” cue for the future!

A little prevention goes a long way in keeping your dog safe and healthy.

If you have kids or guests coming to the door, it’s best to keep your dog calmly in their crate or a quiet space.

This helps prevent stress, barking, or accidental candy snatching.

Want the everwhere dog? Your dog needs to be able to do all these 3 things!

1) Be recalled from distractions
2) Be calm in a down or sit around distractions
3) Be able to walk calmly past distractions

Recall is probably th emost important command to train your dog! it could be the command that protects your pup or someone else. Many unfotunatley do not have a reliable recall. Here arte some tips to build a great successful foudnation for recall!

Flynn!! He is killing it with his training and we are so proud. He came in a nervous fearful guy and he har grown and come out of his shell so much. THe trust that he has build with us is beuatilful that his owners have been able to use to help him grow with the world and other friends and family. He also is learning to have incredible manners and obedience to allow him to go nearly anywhere with his family.

This guys future is bright and we cant wait to see how he progresses and all the adventures he gets to enjoy in the near furture!

It's not just about teaching a dog commands. It's about how you physically and mentally approach your dog with all these new things you're teaching them.

👉 Just like people don't master a new skill after trying it once, dogs need ongoing practice to understand, remember and generalize behavior in different situations

👉If you're not consistent with your expectations, timing or follow through, your dog will quickly become confused and progress will be slow. Inconsistency leads to sometimes allowing jumping on the couch, sometimes not or rewarding a recall only once in a while. It creates confusion.

👉Dogs are incredibly sensitive to our energy. If you're frustrated, anxious or impatient, your dog will pick up on it and it may affect your training results. On the other hand when you are calm, patient and encouraging, your dog feels safe, motivated and confident engaging with you.

Are you feeding too much into the excitement? When you hype your dog up before a walk, all that excitement builds into extra energy that can make the walk feel chaotic right off the bat. Instead of starting out calm and focused, your dog may pull on the leash, jump around, or over all struggle to listen because they're already overstimulated.

By keeping the pre walk routine low key and calm, you set the tone for a more relaxed, enjoyable walk where your dog is more likely to stay focused and walk right by your side.

☀️Get your walks out of the way early morning or late evening while the sun isn't so powerful
☀️Need to grab some pet food? Take your dog and utilize the pet friendly spaces
☀️Staying at home in the AC? Get some place time in and level up the distractions
☀️Dogs can overheat easily and so keep sessions short and always have water available.
