Social skill building is one of the key components of a trained dog.
We understand you’re busy, but the dog park is not the ideal social setting for a dog because most parents are distracted at the dog park and are unable to discern what behaviour their dog may or may not be displaying.

Instead of a dog park, try to find a neutral environment for your dog to explore, sniff, roll around.
Dogs are social and need to have a social outlet.
With dogs…anything is pawsible.

In order to teach Shonky how to react slower and stop himself from engaging with Frankie I attached a line to his collar. As Frankie continued to pass each time and Shonky started to lunge toward her I stepped on the line and gave a quick "uh, uh, uh!"
