Urban Farm in Brookfield, IL
I come from both gardening and foraging families. My mother has a summer/fall garden every year going back to the early 80’s using what is now a days called "organic" methods. My grandfather foraged for mints, chickweed, purslane, edible mushrooms, etc... Some of my first memories are helping my other grandfather sledgehammer out his Chicago concrete backyard in order to plant corn and a vegetable garden. Tree City Growers LLC operates in backyards located in Brookfield (headquarters), Riverside and Berwyn, Illinois. On approximately 3500 square feet with less than 1000 square feet currently in producing.
