Our beginning
The inspiration for CJPAWS developed from a little kitten named Zoe. Zoe was one of many kittens CJPAWS’ founder Bronwyn Stanford had fostered through the years. Zoe was found on the streets of Miami with her sister and they were both very compromised. They had found their way to Miami-Dade Animal Services and then into the arms of CJPAWS founder and CEO, Bronwyn Stanford, who took them home that day to foster. Zoe’s sister thrived but little Zoe had fluid in her thorax and after a 6-week fight and much medical care, she passed. Zoe was special from the first day I looked into her eyes and I knew she would be a failed foster. In her short life she had such an impact on me and I was inspired to make a larger impact for all of the Zoe’s and dogs out there who have so much love to give but due to no fault of their own end up abandoned, neglected and abused. Fostering has been an important part of my life and has made a difference for many animals---Zoe inspired me to do something larger so that far more animals can be impacted. So while little Zoe did not make it...her spirit lives on in the birth of CJPAWS.
