We’ve been working with Joe for many years, and today he stopped by to get started with his new buddy Reese ☺️
Today we caught up with the Panunto family and went for a walk through the neighborhood. Notice how this cutie is noticing his environment, but not reacting to it. We love to see it 😁
Some highlights of our week with Roxy 🌿🌸
Milo is a cautious guy who sometimes runs off when there is a loud sound or startling event. For his board and train, we focused on building a strong, reliable recall so his owners can eventually trust him off-leash. Here’s some of his progress.
Here is a great example of obedience as a foundation for behavioral work.
Doug and Kiera are working with us to improve some of Fritz’s aggressive behavior and add to his sense of calm. Now that they’ve already taught him an obedience foundation, along with a solid “place” command, we can start conditioning Fritz to relax and give him a preferred behavior when he is stressed out or unsure. Even if there is a group of people in the house.
By starting off small and slowly growing the task, you can see Fritz is settling in to the idea of his new desired role with guests.
Sometimes today people see obedience and behavioral rehabilitation as two separate entities when in fact, they can be layered together to create some great results.
This week we had Zephyr come in for a little foundation work while his owner is away. We will be working with his owner upon her return and look forward to helping them establish some improved habits at home!
We had the pleasure of finishing five lessons with Jim, Doreen, and their cattle dog Tess. Over the process of their five lessons, they were able to work on leash walking, getting in and out of the car, improving Tess’s behavior with guests at the door, and finally some off leash work.
One of the most overlooked benefits of obedience is the freedom that comes with it. Here we have Matt and his dog Hobbes, who are about halfway through their ten lesson package. Now that Hobbes can do the basic commands and listen to dad, we can start to add fun, unstructured off-leash walks to allow Hobbes and Matt some decompression time so they can enjoy nature together.
