Dr. Michael Savko is a board certified Doctor of Chiropractic, that works in house, under the direct supervision of licensed veterinarians at several local veterinary hospitals to help enhance the quality of care for large and small animals. He is a local “Pittsburgher" who was born, raised, and currently lives just outside of the city. He graduated from the highly regarded New York Chiropractic College in 1998 and has been involved with clinical practice, patient advocacy, and practice management ever since. Because of his extensive training in a variety of different techniques, patients and clients have noted their visits as being extremely versatile and effective. One client exclaimed, “As soon as we started seeing Dr. Savko, the problem started getting better!” His purpose is to quickly restore optimum health and continue to help each patient stay healthy for life. People continue to say things like: ”His passionate and professional manner really puts pets and their owners at ease". "He is really there for the animals." Dr. Savko has been an animal lover for as long as he can remember. His VOM training was originally completed in the spring of 2000 after which he worked intensively in house and under the direct supervision of a local licensed veterinary surgeon for about 12 months to receive his VOM certification. He retook the coursework again in 2005 to remain up-to-date with technique enhancements and innovations. When working on animals Dr. Savko enjoys working closely with licensed veterinarians to be sure the patients are receiving the best possible care. Dr. Savko shares his life with his incredible wife, friend, and divine life soul mate Tracy, as well as their cat Oliver, and dog Davina! They enjoy quality, quiet time together working or playing inside or outside of their home. Intelligent movies, books, and shows are always appreciated; they both love music and art. While the doctor and his wife feel blessed during all seasons of the year, their souls love the water and the sun most of all, so spending time at the backyard pool in the late spring, summer, into early fall is their great passion! The doctor can work on everyone from athletes to grandmothers to infants, dogs, cats, horses and everything in between. For companion animals his main service area is Western Pennsylvania but he is able to work nationally as well as internationally depending on local regulations.
General Information

This work can be thought of as a subtle yet very deep removal of stress to the commanding and stabilizing systems of the body in order to improve and maintain health. Nerve and neuromuscular energetic points are evaluated and if imbalance is found, these points are stimulated to restore proper communication between the brain and body thus inducing healing! We seek cause and not just chase effect because if we can remove or reduce causes, we can decrease or eliminate effects. Remember if something is “out” of balance and we want to bring it back “in” to balance, it is being pulled out by muscles, it may be irritated and painful due to inflammation and spasm, there may be malfunction due to abnormal brain/body communication; all of this and much more is controlled by the brain and communicated to and from the body via nerves! If we can remove static from the nervous system we can restore balance to the body; out, in, up, down, symptomatic, asymptomatic, whatever! The root of the work comes from a non invasive and very effective healing technology called VOM which locates areas of your animal's nervous and muscle systems that have fallen out of proper communication or balance with the rest of the body and the brain. The goal is to naturally re-establish communication and balance in these areas thus reducing pain AND inducing healing. All accomplished in a very safe and gentle manner which allows for more comprehensive and deeper effects, that last longer than many techniques alone. The work is incredibly accurate as it has the ability to find and reduce nervous interference and muscular imbalances without drugs or surgery. Our nervous system is extremely important as it is responsible for pain and function, and our muscles are important for protection, balance, movement, and stability. Therefore stress to the nervous and muscle systems can halt the healing processes of both the inside and outside of the body, it can severely inhibit normal bodily functions, and produce pain. The removal of stress to the nervous and muscle systems can reduce pain and discomfort, allowing the body to function at a much higher level therefore removing, reducing or even PREVENTING symptoms from occurring. The work is not chiropractic manipulation. While our doctor knows how to do this, he has achieved much better results FOR ANIMALS with other less invasive methods. Just because he is a doctor of chiropractic does not mean that ALL he does is “adjust”. That is like thinking every Italian restaurant only serves spaghetti! Instead of having to yank, pop, twist, push etc. on the animal to work on things, we gently yet directly “talk” to the nervous system via gentle and precise instrumental stimulation. We work with an entire team of wise and well respected veterinarians and veterinary specialists every week. Diagnosed with the dreaded IVDD and possibly hip dysplasia...symptom free in just 3 sessions...WHAT!!?? No surgery, nothing invasive. Consulting with Murphy's vet, we found and removed stress, tension, and imbalance from the body...Murphy got better!
Brief history: early august 2024 tweaked back running, in pain, went to ER, got meds, went to neuro, could not get comfortable, X-ray showed disc narrowing/IVDD, got steroids and other meds, was acting depressed, both hind legs knuckling...

A lil update to our Greenfield office hours. Starting 9.20.24 we will be in the Greenfield office every other Friday from 10am-4pm. We are still there on Thursdays 11am-6pm, and will also be there every other Saturday 9am-1pm.
So on the Fridays we work in Greenfield there will be no Saturday hours, and on the Saturdays we work in Greenfield there will be no Friday hours. Thursdays stay constant.
We are excited for this update as it allows us to NOW offer our healing services 6 days a week in 4 different veterinary hospitals!!! So it opens up a day for the Friday p*eps, and still keeps availability for the Thursday and Saturday clients.
All other locations, no change. We will most likely test this out for the remainder of 2024 and go from there. If anything changes, we will let you know!
**If you have an upcoming Saturday appointment that is effected, do not worry, we will be in contact ASAP to get you rescheduled to whenever is best on YOU!

Zena is able to sit for the FIRST TIME IN MONTHS!

Bobo is a 15yo yorkie mix. He was found unresponsive at home by his parents. Went to vet and did improve somewhat after 24 hours. When he came to us he was crying in pain, and unable to stand. If he tried to stand he would fall over. Dr. Savko spoke to his vet on the phone before his first visit to review some key points, and his vet was totally supportive of him coming to see us, AS THEY ALL SHOULD BE! Especially with our comprehensive yet gentle style, our years of experience, and our amazing results!!!
After one session, "his neck seems to be improving a lot, he is looking around and not slumping to side!"
After session 2 he is "holding improvements and a little more stable when he stands."
By session 4 he was able to walk, and currently he is having a much easier time getting up and down.

5 year old Dixie presented with a pinched nerve in neck, she was on steroids, panting and pacing. With a serious limp, she could not turn head or look up. Wrestling with other dog and yelped, trouble on steps. Things were looking dire...
After 3 sessions she is significantly improved and back to lounging around by the pool and doing steps!
How? We found a significant amount of tension in the neck and shoulder...we worked to release it. The "pinch" has reduced, the symptoms have improved. NATURALLY working with the body to "remind" it to do better...imagine that!

Active, 6yo, GSD. Neck issues. 2 week duration, yelping with certain movements. Mom Lindsay was searching for answers, and found out we work with her vet! Guess how many visits it took us to help....?
"My German Shepherd, Noble, was experiencing symptoms of a neck injury. After ONE visit with Dr. Jeremy, he was no longer crying when reaching down for his food or water. Avoided not one but two knee surgeries!
Over 4 years ago Maren came to us with these complaints: Having issues with back end, cant squat to p*e in morning, can't seem to tell if its legs, hips or back, can run and play but then will favor the back end. Does fine on long walks, after daycare is most sore, always been stiff in general, walks with a swivel in gait, moans a bit. Goals, prevention of worsening, also maybe get some improvement, avoid surgery. Onset 6 months ago.
Was diagnosed with chronic cranial ligament disease, which basically means that the knee ligament has weakened over time. Surgery was strongly recommended for both legs...luckily mom Karla heard about us, talked to her vet about it and came in for the first visit in early February 2020...
Long story short, Maren has NEVER had surgery on either knee, and is doing better NOW than she was over 4 years ago!!!! Who doesnt want that, better over time vs worse AND avoidance of not one but two knee surgeries!!!!

"I truly believe Dr. Jeremy is a miracle worker. I honestly thought we were going to have to result to orthopedic and look at surgery options for his pulled ligament; but we didn’t!!"
We started taking Talon to Dr. Jeremy, at Animal Healing NOW back in September of 2022. Talon had slipped on hardwood steps and was having a hard time walking. He saw significant improvement with walking and was no longer “flopping down” every so many steps. This past fall, Talon was running really hard in our backyard and started limping. He was seen by our vet multiple times and was still going to see Dr. Jeremy. Since that injury, we had him on close watch any time we would put him outside. A few weeks had gone by and he was starting to show signs of improvement with his walking. However, one day we put him out and we couldn’t stop him fast enough. He went running full sp*ed in our back yard, and re-injured himself.
At that time we went back to the vet, multiple times, tried meds to help him with inflammation and pain and nothing worked. We restricted his play time with his brother, blocked off all stairs, walked him on a leash outside every time he went out, and increased his chiropractic appointments from every 6 weeks to every 2-3 weeks. While Dr. Jeremy worked his entire body, he really focused on Talon’s right shoulder and wrist. Over the course of a few months each time we left Animal Healing NOW, Talon showed signs of improvement. I can say that just the other day, Talon has gone for a slow paced walk on our street. This is the first time since he was injured this past fall, that he went on a walk. It is all baby steps. We are still keeping him on a leash when we take him outside and still restricting play time and steps, to enure he is 100% fully healed.
I truly believe Dr. Jeremy is a miracle worker. I honestly thought we were going to have to result to orthopedic and look at surgery options for his pulled ligament; but we didn’t!! We took the time, followed through with his restrictions and he is looking so much better!! We will continue to keep up with Talon’s treatment plan with Animal Healing NOW as we know this is what is working for him!! THANK YOU A MILLION!!

We first saw Benny in early December of 2023. He presented with a serious neck problem. "THE ONLY OPTION WE WERE GIVEN WAS SURGERY, I am so thankful we found doctors Savko and Jeremy! Benny can now enjoy his favorite pastime again, playing BALL!!!"
He was in significant pain, could not lift his head, seemed dizzy, walked in circles with a limp. After just one visit he was "more active and engaged than he has been in over a month!" Since then he is holding his improvements, going on walks, does not walk in circles anymore and of course is back to playing ball!"

We are working with 412 Animal Rescue and their veterinarian to try and help this young fella Leon. He doesnt want to stand, and he is very lethargic. His x rays show spinal compression, we are trying less invasive options first to see if we can help, which btw is a darn good idea MOST of the time! This is a video from visit one.
Can you treat cats? Of course, we work with ALL animals large and small
How do they do with the visits? Watch the video and see...of course some aren't this docile, but we manage. Its our job to help so we will work to do whatever we can to get the visit done as peacefully as possible for all involved.
Does it hurt? Its really not possible to cause harm with our approach, sometimes a patient can get sore after the initial visits, just like soreness after excercies or activities that your body may not be used to. That's called a healing reaction and will pass eventually.

After authorization from their veterinarian, Turbo presented 4.4.23 to our location at New Stanton Veterinary Services in severe pain and unable to walk. Was carried into office. We did 8 visits so far to get him from crying on kitchen floor, unable to move or stand...to out for ice cream with family!

Mom is also a video wiz and on June 18th 2022 put an update together for us to share. Home PT and a few more regular visits with us and we are doing even better now than we were in April! Olive is already on monthly maintenance to keep her healthy! Both of these ladies, true WARRIORs! Mom's hard work and dedication from day one helped get us there for sure!

Our Story
Pittsburgh native, Dr. Michael G. Savko is a licensed and board certified doctor of chiropractic with certification and vast experience utilizing incredible natural healing techniques for animals. Please note, he is not a veterinarian, nor does he practice veterinary medicine. Since 1999 he has worked with veterinarians to help enhance the quality of care for large and small animals. Currently, Dr. Savko works in house, under the direct supervision of licensed veterinarians at several prestigious veterinary hospitals across the region. He is also Reiki attuned, holds multiple certifications as a ThetaHealer®, and has experience with many heralded body and energy modalities such as muscle work, VOM, energy medicine, essential oils, chakra balancing, acupressure, and other holistic and intuitive approaches to healing.
The work can be thought of as a subtle yet very deep and comprehensive removal of stress to the commanding systems of the body in order to help restore balance and health! Think acupressure for the nervous system! Both nerve and neuromuscular energetic points are evaluated and if imbalance is found, those points are instrumentally stimulated to help restore proper communication between the brain and body, as well as the body’s communication with itself. We are looking for causes not effects. If we can remove cause, we can change effect. Remember if something is “out” of position or balance and we want to put it back “in” to position or balance, it is being pulled out by muscles, it may be stuck and painful due to inflammation and spasm, all of which are controlled by nerves! If we can remove static from the nervous system we can restore balance to the body, out, in, up, down, symptomatic, asymptomatic, whatever!
The work is not a chiropractic adjustment or manipulation. While Dr. Savko knows how to do this, he has had much better results FOR ANIMALS with other methods. Just because Dr. Savko is a chiropractor does not mean that ALL he does is “adjust”. That is like thinking every Italian restaurant only serves spaghetti! We have moved well beyond that approach. Instead of having to yank, pop, twist, push etc. on the animal to work on things that are perceived as “out” or stuck, we gently yet directly “talk” to the nervous system via non-invasive, peaceful, and precise instrumental stimulation. This “commander” system is responsible for pain and function. By removing stress, imbalance, and miscommunication from the nerves our goal is to reduce pain and restore function throughout the entire body.

The root of the work comes from a non invasive and very effective healing technology called VOM which locates areas of your animal's nervous and muscle systems that have fallen out of proper communication or balance with the rest of the body and the brain. The goal is to naturally re-establish communication and balance in these areas thus reducing pain AND inducing healing. All accomplished in a very safe and gentle manner which allows for more comprehensive and deeper effects, that last longer than many techniques alone.
The work is incredibly accurate as it has the ability to find and reduce nervous interference and muscular imbalances without drugs or surgery. Our nervous system is extremely important as it is responsible for pain and function, and muscles are important for protection, balance, movement and stability. Therefore stress to the nervous/muscle systems can halt the healing process, severely inhibit normal bodily functions, and produce pain or discomfort. The removal of stress to the nervous and muscle systems can reduce pain and discomfort, allowing the body to function at a much higher level therefore removing, reducing or even PREVENTING symptoms from occurring.
