WE GOT HER!!

Our amazing Animal Control officers Ramsey and Katie set a trap 2 days ago and she finally when in and hit the plate to trap her.

This girl who Katie named Trixie has been running at large at our local airport for about 2 weeks which we know about.

Every time our animal control would get a call about the dog, we would be too late and she was already spooked and took off. On Thursday, multiple calls came into our Page PD dispatch regarding the dog.

Trixie showed her self! She was brave enough to take chips out of one of the PD officers, but got spooked when trying to get caught. A trap was set where animal control figured out where she was going in and out of the airport.

A trap was set Friday, this little stinkier would go in the trap, eat the food and not touch the plate.

FINALLY Saturday morning she stepped on the plate causing the trap to deploy and securing her in.

Trixie is beyond scared right now and covered in ticks. You know with love and kindness this girl will come around. We’ll keep you posted!

Who knows if this girl was dumped in our city or an owned dog that got away and the owner doesn’t care. We do know Trixie starts a new chapter and deserves a great home soon!

Meet Radar!

This boy is a goof ball in a fun way. He loves his walks with all the volunteers and needs an active human who continue to take him out. Radar is great in a kennel and wants to learn more on how to be the best dog for his humans. He is incredibly smart!

Kicking our week off with this great adoption!

Daffodil has found her Furever home!! Daffodil came to us very very scared, no social interaction, and hid in the back of run. We had two volunteers who started to work with her regularly. They would sit in her run and just be present. Slowing feeding her treats and showing her that she can trust humans.

Slowly but surely she was coming around. Daffodil found comfort in Charlie and Joy. We joked and said Charlie was her emotional support dog. So if Charlie went for a walk the girls would follow. Over time she gained confidence and her personality really started to show.

We knew she needed to go into home with other dogs that had to be social dogs. And that home appeared.

A great local family who adopted a puppy from us about a year ago was looking to adopt another dog and wanted to meet Daffodil. We set up an appointment because of Daffodil’s situation. They took her for a walk and then a sleepover!

It took a little bit for Daffodil to come around, but once it clicked in her brain she was safe and these humans are not scary. Her crazy, fun and vocal self came out.

She loves all the dogs in the family and cuddles with everyone. Her new humans love her to pieces and couldn’t imagine life without her. Each day she is gaining more confidence. She is learning car rides are fun!

We love all our adoption stories! Each dog has a home waiting for them and each adoption means the world to us!

Happy Caturday!

Not sure if you all remember Chester, he was our TNR kitty. He was part of a colony of feral cats that a family TNR. Chester eventually warmed up to the family but still lived outside. Unfortunately the family had to move and couldn’t take in Chester and didn’t want to leave him behind.

Chester became part of our PAAA family and NOW has a family of his own! This sweet sweet older lady needed a companion after loosing her husband a couple months ago. Chester was the perfect fit. It took him a week or so to adjust. She reports “he’s my best friend and I absolutely love him” “ he loves to sit in my lap”

This is what rescue is all about!

Welcome Pinto Bean! Your new life starts now!

We see things that make us mad and sad at the same time. When a puppy comes in COVERED in ticks this bad and so helpless how can you not feel all the emotions.

What is also strange is we have an other puppy that we took in last weekend from Parker Project that someone brought to them also COVERED in ticks. She is the same age and same coloring…. More on her soon!

Summer time is tick season, just like vaccines please get the proper treatment for ticks for your pets! Every summer we are seeing more and more infestation.

Our pet of the day is Dottie!

This girl is ready for an adventure! Dottie is fairly new to the PAAA family. It did take her some time to adjust and when she find her humans, she’ll need a little extra love as she adjusts in her space.

Dottie is in a yard with all boys and has a ball with them. She isn’t a fan of other female dogs yet, we are hoping over time she will come around and learn to be friends. So as of right now, she’ll need to be the only dog in the home or with male dogs. Dottie is great on leash and enjoys the company of all the volunteers.

Yesterday we had some more amazing humans stop by and volunteer!

This family couldn’t compete their Lake Powell trip without walking a couple of dogs 1st. They stopped by last year and walked dogs too. Annnd next year we are going to set up a big volunteer morning with even more family members.

We see and meet some crappy humans but there are so many more great humans out there that outweigh the bad ones.

Thank you to Brandon, Raleigh, and Jessalyn for coming to volunteer this morning!

These great kiddos are part of our local 4H program and came to help out. They walked serval dogs, gave our new puppies baths and names, and socialized kittens.

We love having kids volunteer, it gives them an understanding of what a shelter is, how it operates and the impact they have on these animals. It’s so cool to see a dog so happy to see a child and to see a child so happy while taking them on a walk.

Tomorrow and Sunday is .parker.project vaccine clinic!!

No appointment needed. It’s a drive through vaccine clinic from 8:30am to 12:30pm. If you have puppies or kittens you need to get them vaccinated.

They still have appointments available for spay and neuter as well.

Parker Project will be up in Lechee this weekend! Mark your calendars!!!!

Vaccine clinic and a spay and neuter clinic. Let’s get your animals fixed and get to the root of the problem.

Now…. How their grant works for their spay and neuter clinic is any tribal member is FREE for S/N. Non- tribal members the cost is $50 dollars.

If you or you know someone who needs help with the $50 dollars to get their animal fix, PAAA is offering to cover that fee.

Parker Project has lots of space available for spay and neuter. Once you make the appointment with them, send us a DM or come to the shelter and pick up a voucher to take with you.

Our Scarlett girl!

This sweetheart is ready for her humans. Scarlett is a little older and full of life. She’s probably had multiple litters, not anymore though because she is fully updated on shots and fixed.

Scarlett loves going for walks, gets along with adult kitty’s, and really loves taking long naps on her bed. Scarlett did go on a sleepover but unfortunately it wasn’t the home for her. This was a good thing because we found out she is a little nervous with car rides and will take some time to adjust in her new home.

If you are looking for a single older girl who will get you out everyday for a walk, watch Netflix with you, and both of you enjoy each others company Scarlett is your girl.

Check this out! Counting our Feel Good Friday…

Marv found his Furever humans too and hit the jackpot! Marv has been with us for a while as well and now is living his best life.

His family started their adoption journey by coming down and walking dogs. Their daughter gravitated towards Marv and every time they came to walk dogs he was 1st on their list.

Marv has adjusted well and just went on a big family vacation up north in the trees.

Marv you’re going to be missed but we are so happy for you buddy!

Kicking off our Feel Good Friday with this great adoption.

Bill now Walker has found his humans and is adjusting very well to his new life. Bill/Walker has been with us for a little while and we are so excited to see him so happy.

His new humans have adopted from us before and recently lost their dog unexpectedly who was adored. Their other dog was definitely feeling the loss like everyone else. The family and the other dog came to shelter last week to meet a bunch of dogs we had in mind for them and Bill/Walker took to the family with no hesitation.

Walker we will miss you yet so happy for you buddy!

Everyone meet Safeway!

Safeway was picked up at Safeway and the girls there shouted out “his name should be Safeway”. We thought that would be perfect name for this little guy.

Animal control got a call last week regarding a kitten wedged in between the shopping carts outside. Sure enough there he was sound asleep in the back the cart section in the corner. With the help of the public, animal control grabbed him and secured him safely at the shelter.

It’s taken about a week for Safeway to fully trust us and really come out of his shell. He is still a little timid when you hold him but with time he will warm up. He loves playing with all the toys and sleeping peacefully in his comfy bed.

Safeway is looking for a new home where he can continue to gain more trust with humans and receive all the love he needs.

Meet Jeffery!

This little chi mix is ready for his next adventure with a loving family. Jeffery is a character and he isn’t afraid to show off. Weighing only about 15lbs he’s the perfect size. Jeffery’s idea home would be he is the only dog or with another small dog and no cats or big dogs. He definitely has little man energy and thinks he can take on a bigger dog. 🤦‍♀️

Jeffery loves going for walks and being cuddled, he is great in a crate and his favorite thing is car rides.

Jeffery was our featured pup at our last event Pup and Paint. He was little timid at 1st but once he sniffed you and knew he was okay, he instantly became your best friend.

STOP DUMPING PUPPIES!!!

Another litter was found at a pull off and brought to us.

SPAY AND NEUTER, again for the people in the back SPAY AND NEUTER.

Yes we understand the strays that are feral and no one catch them, but the dumping of puppies needs to stop.

Start with one female, then help a friend or family fix their female, then help someone else fix their female. Then do the same with the males!

Everyone who wants to “breed” their dog, please don’t. Trust me your reason is dumb and the world doesn’t need any more labs, labradoodles, Frenchies, or any other breeds.

We have 3 sets of litters totaling 18 puppies at the shelter. Like every other shelter we are packed. Puppy on top of puppies.

If all your animals fixed and you want to help think of solutions or take a class on grant writing or volunteer or help get the word out to people about clinics. There is one coming this weekend in the Gap.

Take responsibility and be part of the solution not the problem!

Where are my Boarder Collie fans at? We have introduced this guy before but check him now after his photo shoot. Mr. Par

Par got fixed and received all his shots today, so this stud is ready for a home. Par is very very much a Boarder Collie and if you understand the breed then Par might be a perfect boy for you!

Par does great with other dogs, great in crate, loved walks, and is very driven toy and treat. Par is a working dog and needs a loving family who can give him a great home.

Can adopt or foster, how about coming to volunteer and walk this handsome boy and all his friends. Can’t volunteer, share and like to get this face seen.
