Salem, an Outdoor access black cat did not return home. This was in Westwood in a high residential area. The dogs led and stopped at one specific yard. My notes are in one of the pictures. You can see I wrote 918 which was the address of the home all dogs were interested in. Also, there is a GPS map and you will see the red dot with a yellow circle where all the dogs stopped. I brought in my evidence dog, cowgirl, but there was not one piece of fur, or any coyote s**t or signs of a scuffle. The yard was heavily landscaped meaning the gardeners had just been there mowed, blowed, and watered and raked up grass. However, cowgirl did do ‘alerts’. Could’ve been blood alerts, but I feel it was more of a fear pheromone alert. I advised the owners to try to obtain video evidence from the camera that was mounted on 918 at the time their cat went missing. Sure enough this is what the camera found. The GPS map shows the red dot and I circled it in yellow. This is the exact where Salem is seen on the video. This is not graphic, but it is very sad. Salem appeared to still be moving a little bit before the coyotes came. Salem had been allowed to roam outside over nine years. He was in good health and knew the area well.

NOT graphic but sad.

I worked a lost cat case in Westwood. Salem, an Outdoor Access cat did not return home last week. He had been allowed to roam outside for over nine years.

This was a high residential area. The search dogs were interested in ONE specific yard. We did an aggressive grid search (along with my evidence dog) but there was no evidence located.
No fur, coyote s**t, signs of a scuffle, noticeable blood, etc.

However, from the dogs reactions, I knew something had happened in that yard. In my opinion it was a ‘fear’ pheromone that was released from Salem and I told the owners this.

I noted a camera mounted on the side of this particular home and instructed the owners to try to gain video footage of around the time Salem went missing.

Unfortunately, this is what they found.

Pictures from our Miramar search near Poway. Outdoor Access cat did not come home. The owners did find her tracker collar a few homes down. Which is exactly where my search Dogs lead and then behind the home to a big green space. Some fur and lots of coyote s**t were located. We are waiting on forensics.

First time in a hotel room on a case in a really long time. It will be the first time without Diana . The dogs are a little bit discombobulated. I usually don’t bring Apple to the hotel. Cat in Miramar didn’t come home. So we’ll see what the dogsfind tomorrow.

This beautiful cat was lost for seven weeks. Yes. Seven weeks. No calls or sightings. I told the owner that it is a very old scent trail, but she wanted to try anyway. I’ll be darned if the bloodhounds didn’t walk up and find fur remains. GPS map is in the red; fur found at the yellow dot with pictures below.

NOTE: This took three dogs about two hours to find. I know on the map it looks like a straight shot. But it was not. This is very difficult plus understanding how old the scent trail was.

Client review on search dogs. Thank you! I didn’t even know I still had a Yelp page. I signed up for it about 20 years ago. Lo and behold got some fake and negative and horrible reviews. Two of the reviews were people I did not even work for! 🤷‍♀️I was shocked. You can’t get rid of them - you have to pay Yelp to get rid of them! SCAM. I had a bunch of five star reviews and Yelp took those off.

Gambit, a 7 month old indoor only kitten FOUND alive and well today after one week. Found On Day of search in the direction of travel right on the outskirts of the target area. There had been NO sightings.

Thanks to the last AirTag ping, (which ran out of batteries), the owners intense search effort, and Pepper helping to confirm the direction of travel…….Gambit is home safe!!

Diana is home. I hope she’s now with Glory, Ellie Mae, Apache, Rainbow, Lily, and Hope; our original search dog team. May all our dogs rest in peace and wait for us on the other side. I can’t get over I walk in the house and she’s not here anymore.

This is a video of a coyote, jumping a wall and grabbing a toy poodle. It is not graphic. The toy poodle was found a couple homes down—— somehow it got away from the coyote, which is not only unusual, but very lucky. The dog suffered injuries, but will make a full recovery.

I informed the owner that the coyote will be back. And she needs to take precautions.

I stress that wildlife is only to be respected. They are hungry. They are thirsty. They are just trying to survive.

It is up to us to protect our pets. We are in the Coyotes’ territory and have built up so much around them. The fires are also pushing them out.
