Region 6 AFTCA Field Trial

Please find attached the updated Region 6 Dog of the Year points standings for Amateur All-Age and Amateur Derby. Points are updated as EDFs are received from club officials.

The Pelican Open All-Age Qualifier and Derby was rescheduled due to weather. The trial will now start Friday, January 26, at Camp Robinson Wildlife Management Area, Mayflower, Arkansas.

Entries will close at 5 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday, January 23. The drawing will follow at 6 p.m. (CST) at Magnolia Enterprises.

Judging the trial will be Daniel Holden of Holly Springs, MS, and Jon Lam of Makanda, IL.

Best of luck to all the contenders in the upcoming Region 6 Amateur Shooting Dog Championship! Trial will begin Friday, January 26th at 8 am in Huntingdon, TN. A special thanks to Sportsman's Pride for their sponsorship of this championship.

Due to the dangerously cold and messy winter weather conditions in Middle Tennessee that will continue past this upcoming weekend the Virgil Beasley Sr. Memorial Classic Amateur Field Trial is being rescheduled to run April 19-21, 2024.

As we look to the first week of January 2024, we have several Open and Amateur field trials that will follow on the heels of the Ames Amateur. The Prairie & Pelican Open trials will be at Conway, AR. The West Tennessee Amateur FTC will be in Dancyville, TN. The Hombart Ames Memorial Open will be at the historic Ames Plantation. Please see each trials particulars in the pictures below.

From Kent Walker: The Ames Amateur Field Trial drawing will be posted in the morning. There are 36 AA and 20 derby entries. Trial begins Monday January 1, 2024. Without delay the trial will conclude on Thursday January 4th.
