This is a repost for someone looking to adopt their dog. Please contact CJ Bachelder.
Moose is generally quiet and low maintenance. He is happy to hangout by your side with a chew toy. He willingly sleeps in his crate at night. He'll sit, lay down and shake both paws in trade for a few treats. Moose is highly trainable and food motivated. I believe additional obedience, trick and task training would be a great way to keep him active and entertained. He needs a job!

He does have some separation anxiety and will chew furniture if left home alone, but is otherwise not destructive. He has had limited exposure to other dogs. He would likely do well with other large dogs that will help teach him manners and enjoy his rough play style. Slow introductions would be very beneficial. He lives with 2 household cats but will sometimes chase them.

Moose would be a great fit for a home with a large yard where he has room to roam. He would do best with a family who has time to dedicate to keeping him active and continuing training. Due to a previous bite history (resource guarding), Moose must go to a home with no children. He may do well with older, dog savvy teenagers.

About Moose:

Breed: Mastiff, Akita, Great Dane

Weight: 91 lbs

Age: 2.5 years

Neutered: at age 1.5

Location: Southern NH

Background: Adopted from a Rescue in Maryland at a young age.

Up-to-date on vaccines.

Reason for Rehoming:

Bite history with child.

At the recommendation of several facilities, it is not in his best interest keep him with his current family because of his size and the size/age of children in the home.

His family cares deeply for him and wants to set him up to succeed in an environment better suited for him and his personality
