❤️‍🩹 Research has PROVEN equine therapy works!

🐴 On this World Mental Health Day, we want to share how our sanctuary in Avon, CT is the perfect place for you (or someone you love) to experience the magic of knowing and loving a horse.

🐴 A study by British Horse Society found 80% of horseback riders say they feel “quite a lot” or “extremely” cheerful, relaxed, happy or active when riding.

🏇 Riders develop confidence, better physical health and problem-solving skills, develop socialization and companionship skills, and get to take-in our beautiful sanctuary atop Nod Hill in picturesque Avon, CT.

🧲 When our volunteers turn our horses in or out, muck the stalls and paddocks, water and feed, fill hay bags, and groom our horses, they discover the healing benefits of “getting your hands dirty”, making a difference and caring for these peaceful animals.

🧠 In a society where young people and adults feel stressed, anxious and unhappy, we here at US Horse Welfare and Rescue strive for solutions. It’s at the core of our mission: to rehabilitate unwanted or neglected horses and teach our community the healing benefits of human-to-horse connections.

❤️‍🩹 It’s about our beloved pony, Faith. As we explained previously, the vet has found a serious tendon tear that requires extensive treatment, including shockwave and laser therapies. You know how much this sweet girl means to our sanctuary.

💔 So that’s why we’re launching a campaign to help cover the $5,000 cost for her recovery. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference in her recovery. We need her to feel better! 🙏

US Horse Welfare and Rescue is proud to have been chosen as a recipient for one of Avon's Greater Community Fund. Horses are so healing to people and we want to give back to the community with our US Horse Welfare and Rescue Programs.

Save the date! Holiday with the horses is December 9 from 10:30 - 2:30. Tickets go on sale next week! Such a special event for everyone. The spirit of the holidays will be captured with Santa, our rescue horses, decorating sugar, cookies and sipping on hot chocolate. Tickets are $10 per person and children under two are free. They will be pony rides and a perfect setting for your holiday photos. Stay tuned and be sure to visit our website to learn more about this event, and other programs at US horse, welfare and rescue.
