I've been asked several times over the years how to protect your hands and fingers when teaching a highly motivated young dog how to play tug. People come in covered in bandages with all kinds of great ideas ranging from protective guards to chainmail gloves.

I always answer in the same way. It's an obedience issue. Your dog probably can target, they're just not bothering to.

On a totally unrelated note, all your favorite tug toys are now available in red.

Last week the Fundy Schutzhund Club hosted the Canadian German Shepherd Dog National IGP Championship in Saint John New Brunswick with judges Darin Clarke, David Grant and Robbie de Jong (SV).

We'd like to both thank and congratulate everyone that trained hard all year and came to compete. Schutzhund isn't just one sport, it's really more like three sports that require a tremendous amount of time and dedication. Your hardwork really shows and we couldn't be prouder of everyone.

Back by popular demand - Redline K-9 Training Tracking Articles!

Package of assorted wood, leather and felt pieces appropriately sized for use as training IGP articles. Made from the same natural materials used in our trial articles . Size and contents vary from package to package.

Each package is roughly 8" x 4" x 2" and weighs a minimum of 6 ounces. Roughly 20-25 pieces per package.

Last weekend the Sturgeon Schutzhund Club hosted the 2023 CWDF IGP All-breed National Championship. It was great to see a mix of familiar and new faces and by all accounts the event was well run and everybody had a great time.

We'd like to thank judges Klaus-jürgen Glüh (Germany/VDH) and Jim Chrisp (Canada/CWDF) as well as helpers Kelly Readman and Jack Dinsmore for their fair and safe work.

Last weekend the Prairies Region IGP Championship was hosted by The Central Plains Schutzhund Club. We weren't able to be there in person but by all accounts it was a great event and everyone had a fantastic time. We'd like to congratulate everyone that worked so hard in the build up and had the courage to leave it all on the field.

We'd like to to say thanks to judge Andrea Duggan Trial Manager Cheryl Foster and all three of the helpers: Robert Van Norman ,
Henry Fitzpatrick and Ernst Fischhofer.
