Hey Chickadees!
Extra carb snacks these several late afternoons for everyone to keep body temps up! Extra insulation with bedding material. Close up the vents overnight. Reopen in the morning. I don’t use heaters because their bodies, much like other birds, adapt to temperature changes over time. Going from a 30 degree coop to an 8 degree day will be much harder on their bodies. They are well-insulated beings and in over 35 years I’ve not had any bad outcomes. Gonna be bitter, so give as much as bedding as possible and carbs before bedtime! Ducks too! My goats and horses are bedded down with lots of extra straw and h**p tonight as well.
