Walt Sturgeon of Operation Migration was fascinating and informative speaker at the Raleigh-Durham Caged Bird Society meeting on Sunday. He brought a video of various migration assists over several years. Fortunately they were all successful, the flocks of whooping cranes, geese and trumpeter swans increased and no longer need migration assist However, this program is now being duplicated in Europe and Asia with their at risk species of birds.
The members enjoyed this presentation and getting together and even Piper was watching the video!
