Happy Sunday, West End fam! We will be closed tomorrow, January 20th, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. If you should need any emergency care, please contact CCVS at 352-225-3501, UrgentVet at 352-374-0040, or UF Small Animal Hospital at 352-392-2235. We will resume normal hours on Tuesday.

With the holidays upon us, Community Care Veterinary Specialists wants to remind you that all those delicious fatty and sweet treats we are so excited to eat this week, are not the best snacks for our furry friends. Be careful offering anything new or leaving your pets unsupervised around the dinner table this week and throughout the rest of the year.

Our Meadowbrook location is open from 7am until Midnight 365 days per year and they are here for you this week if you have any questions or concerns.

We are open today (Wednesday, 10/9) until 4pm.

From our local humane society! Please consider helping if you are able ❤️🐾:

Before Hurricane Helene swept through our area, we took in 84 animals (40 dogs and 44 cats) from rural shelters, many arriving with unknown health issues. If they had remained in their original shelters, they wouldn’t have survived—like at Dixie County Animal Shelter, where the roof was blown off, leaving the dogs without any chance of making it.

Now, we’re at full capacity, caring for a total of 347 animals (143 dogs and 204 cats) in our shelter, foster homes, the Feeline Good Cat Café, and our Foster Barn.

We need your help more than ever. Whether it’s through a monetary donation, pet food contributions, or simply sharing this post, your support ensures these animals stay safe and healthy. Click the link below for different ways you can support our animals.

West End Animal Hospital is a full service, AAHA accredited small animal clinic established by Dr. Cottrell in 1986. We treat a wide variety of animals, ranging from dogs and cats to ferrets, bats, rabbits, rodents, small marsupials, and non-human primates. With a state-of-the-art in house laboratory and x-ray suite we are able to provide rapid in-house diagnostics when your pet needs it the most. We offer boarding facilities to established clients and we are one of the few local hospitals that provide after hours emergency care, allowing you to see a doctor who is familiar with you pet.
