Today on National Veterinary Appreciation Day, we thank and celebrate those veterinary practices that help WASA by providing knowledgeable and compassionate care for our WASA fosters and Westport Animal Control guests (Part 2). Norwalk Veterinary Hospital so often makes our dogs a priority and adds them to their very busy schedules. We are so grateful. Just yesterday, Dr. Charles Duffy added our friend Isla to his surgical schedule and did not make Isla wait for weeks in regard to addressing a puzzling and uncomfortable condition. Isla found herself in a municipal shelter after serving her purpose as a breeder mom. Given her appearance, apparently it was decided by a suspected back yard breeder, she was abandoned - which for Isla was her saving grace. She is now adopted and most beloved by a WASA volunteer. We suspect those big bumps are scar tissue or keloids from a burn - brand? heat lamp? They were clearly uncomfortable for Isla and were irritated. Dr. Duffy made removal of those growths a priority. They were removed and sent out for biopsy. Thank you!
