Our Story
Cory Hutchings grew up in Arlington Washington where his family operated a horse facility. As a youth, Cory successfully showed Paints in all disciplines and won the World Champion Trail Horse title at the Paint World Show. Cory took lessons from Bob Boyce and at a young age decided to become a horse trainer. He has worked under trainers Darren Stancik, Mark DeForest, and NRHA Futurity Champion, Million Dollar earner and NRCHA Futurity Champion, Todd Bergen. Cory has competed in APHA, AQHA and NRHA horse shows.
On July 3rd 2015 Cory married Nicole Renick who grew up in Southern California. Nicole also started out showing All Around horses in the Paint circuit at a young age winning 2 World titles and multiple top tens. Nicole then decided she wanted to ride Reining horses, she became a successful Non Pro/Rookie rider under the guidance of Tanya Jenkins. Then in 2006 Nicole won the AJPHA Worlds in Youth Reining and Youth Team Roping (Heading) under the guidance of Jerry and Shelly Lunde. In 2007 Nicole went to work for Tanya and started her Open career.
Cory and Nicole's clients enjoy their individualized techniques, which vary for each horse, or horse/rider team. Always working with a plan, Cory and Nicole sit down with their clients and work to understand their competition needs and goals. They enjoy working with Open owners, Non-Pros and Youth riders as clients.
Cory and Nicole have each had a successful career in Futurity, Derby and Horse Show competition and have had remarkable success with there Non Pro clients. Cory and Nicole train out of Lucky 13 Ranch in Arlington, Washington. Hutchings Performance Horses has a program for everything from the beginner to the advanced showman, offering training, lessons, clinics and sales.
