A little background
Our lead trainer, Jenny, began working with animals professionally in 1981 as a horse groom and trail guide at the Rocky River Reservation of the Cuyahoga County Metro Parks. She started riding and ultimately showing horses at about the age of 12 yrs. In the late 1980's she delved into the AKC show ring with her Parti-colored Coker Spaniels, and was a member of regional and national breed and specialty clubs.
During the 1990's her young daughter won a parakeet starter kit in a coloring contest and that was the beginning of her foray into training yet another type of animal, parrots. She developed a performing parrot show that was featured in Woman's World magazine and made many regional television and newspaper appearances. She was also a member of the International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators and helped educate many children and adults about parrots at local libraries, schools and other community events.
The lead trainer at Best Dog began fostering rescue dogs in 2002. In 2014, she joined the International Association of Canine Professionals and over the next several years attended various dog training workshops, seminars and conferences. In early 2017, she was introduced to Mark McCabe and Training Between the Ears. It transformed her dog training approach and made it possible for her to help a wide variety of dogs in a truly deep and meaningful way. She has attended a multitude of TBTE workshops and has even coached other trainers in TBTE techniques under Mark McCabe’s guidance. Best Dog Behavior & Training LLC was launched to offer her dog training services beyond the rescue realm and to all dogs and dog owners in her area. She and her husband share their home in Brunswick, Ohio with 4 dogs, one bird, and enjoy motorcycling and visiting with their family.
