We are a non-profit with the goal of assisting our community members with TNR. In between, we like to showcase our personal kitties as well as our fosters.

Any cat that enters the Batta house will always be a Batta cat. Starting with our sweet Jack and Coco that made the move from our apartment into our house. Jack & Coco were about 7 years old when we moved. We had the privilege of living as a family until they were 18 in 2014. Then it was time to say goodbye. On the heels of Jack & Coco came two tiny babies that were found by our niece. They were o
nly 2-3 weeks old and were bottle babies. We didn't know if we would keep them but after a few days, we couldn't not keep them. So we welcomed Pepé and Penelope to our family. One year later, we decided to try fostering kittens and then the fun really began. Pepé & Penelope were at a good age to be socialized with kittens. They were able to play, teach, and be annoyed by kittens. Since then, we have had a revolving door of wonderful furballs, some very young, some older, but all need purrmanent homes. Along the way we have "foster failed" and welcomed two more furkids to the family, Slade and Mini. This is the page where you can learn more about Pepé,Penelope, Slade, and Mini and their numerous houseguests. If you ever see a foster cat you are interested in, feel free to inquire and we can point you in the direction to give the Batta Cat a furrever home.
We're looking for local veterinarians to lend their expertise and help us tackle pet overpopulation. Your support can make a huge impact on our community's animal welfare efforts!

Great tips for in-trap care!
A critical element of Trap-Neuter-Return ( ) is ensuring community cats are comfortable in their humane traps as they await spay and neuter surgery and during recovery.
The kitty that came back to the trap after release finally found his forever indoor home. No more outside life for you sweet boy. ❤️

Just a reminder that Batta Cats is 100% volunteer run and managed. We do not have employees or a staff which means we also don’t get paid or have a payroll. Most of the volunteers work and work full time jobs (the Batta’s included.) We are funded by donations and occasional grants which we apply for (and get a lot of denials.) All funds go towards our mission of TNR: trap, neuter, return.
Thank you for your support.

Good to know community cats have a little protection now against cruelty.
BREAKING NEWS: MAJOR VICTORY FOR CATS IN OHIO ❗
We won! In a unanimous decision, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled that Ohio's companion animal cruelty law (R.C. 959.131) protects ALL cats and dogs as "companion animals." Alley Cat Allies filed an amicus brief in this case, which helped inform the Court’s decision.
This is a huge step forward! In the simplest terms, we helped the Ohio Supreme Court decide that the law protects both owned and unowned cats equally, and that animal cruelty against community cats is not lesser than cruelty against an owned cat. This will affect the outcome of cruelty cases across Ohio and ensure justice is truly served.
The amicus brief we filed was related to the case of Igor, a kitten who may be a community cat and was subjected to a cruel and damaging act. In Igor’s case, there was an attempt to interpret the cruelty law and the definition of "companion animal" as only applying to cats or dogs who are "kept" in a way that would exclude virtually all community cats.
The Ohio Supreme Court rejected that interpretation and decided all cats and dogs, no matter what, are companion animals and protected by the law. Our amicus brief explained why this was the correct decision, and the Ohio Supreme Court agreed!

Update on OAR’s TNR policies. Make appointments first, then trap! Have a plan.

I have a feeling they won’t be available long. ❤️ Their sissy already had an adopter.

This beauty we fixed through TNR (mom of those fluffy kittens) is also looking for a home, preferably indoor! Turns out she is very sweet. She did receive FVRCP and rabies vaccination during her appointment and of course is spayed with her badge of honor eartip. If you are interested in adopting her, please contact us via email or comment and we will get you in contact with her current caretaker.

These boys lol. Guess Lippy needed a bath!

In this video we have Stitch (tabby with white feet), Lippy (buff tabby) and Zippy (grey tabby.) Stitch was trapped way back in January. Both his sisters were adopted. Stitch is a sweet boy. He is a playful baby, still in kitten mode, but is very shy with new people and new environments. He does great with other cats. Lippy is still cautious but as you can see will come around for pets. He is obsessed with Churu treats and warms up nicely with a Churu bribe. He loves Stitch as you can see. Finally is Zippy. He is the most cautious. He loves his Churu but skits away when we try to pet him.
All of these boys need homes and we just know there’s a home (or three) that will be patient and doting with them! They are purrfectly healthy kittens that just need a little, not a lot, of extra…time, patience, love. If that’s yours, please complete an application at battacats.org/adoptionapplication and let us know why.
We are at a golf outing today, promoting Batta Cats as a CFC (Combined Federal Campaign) charity. Each foursome gets a mulligan but we attached a challenge before the mulligan is given…set the cat trap!
We have had Nina now for 4 weeks after we trapped her August 29th for her TNR appointment. She is JUST NOW getting to the point where she is not spewing snot out of her face all the time. A month worth of antibiotics plus some nutrition, rest and love is clearly what this lady needed. She still has some of the upper respiratory infection going on but so much better! If you would be interested in a foster to adopt or adopting her to continue her care and love, let us know! [email protected] Nina is current on vaccinations and FIV+, as well as super sweet.
Tippy is an ***adoption ready*** kitten! A little about Tippy: he has two brothers, Lippy and Zippy. All three are on the skittish side, with Tippy being the most comfortable around people. He is very motivated by lickable treats! He is about 4 months old, neutered and up to date on vaccinations. We are looking for a home that will offer patience and time for him to adjust and acclimate. We don’t think it will take very long for Tippy to adjust! We are sure he would like a kitty friend too, perhaps one of his brothers!
Playtime with small fry and biggie fry because biggie fry thinks small fry is the same size and can have wrestle mania. No biggie fry, he’s not in your weight class.
Dreyfus and Amelia are the two babies that fell from an attic fan while we were at a property doing TNR. Dreyfus, who was scheduled for eye surgery and miraculously became better is doing so well. His right eye had entropion since we rescued him and look at it now! Amelia is a spunky and fun little girl. She is currently at Petsmart (Feedwire location by the grooming area) ready to be met and adopted. We are waiting for Dreyfus’ eyes to clear just a little more but he will be available soon! I’m sure if you wanted them both, that could be arranged! They would both love kitty friends (and probably would do better with a kitty friend.) To adopt one or both, apply at https://www.lifelinecats.org/. Our friends at LiFeline Cat Rescue and Network Inc will be handling the adoptions.
Stitch doesn’t know what to think about his Mini-me, Dreyfus! So stinkin’ cute!
Nena, the little lady we held back from the “return” part of her journey is feeling better and is in full biscuit making mode! She definitely still has some major congestion, so much it wells up in her eyes. But she is very tolerant with getting all the boogers wiped out of her nose and eyes. She also takes her meds like a champ mixed in a gravy vitamin treat.
Clyde is ready and waiting for his forever home! At just 4-5 months old, this sweet baby boy is already pushing 6 pounds. He’s just grandé! He’s big in stature, big personality, big on playing, big on exploring, big on cuddling. You will not be disappointed with this guy. He’s not afraid of anyone and loves company of humans and other cats (we don’t know how he will be with dogs but imagine he would adjust well to respectful doggoes.)
If you are interested in adopting Clyde, please complete an application with LiFeline Cat Rescue and Network Inc.

Welcome Nena
We trapped this lady the other night for TNR, much to the surprise of the residents. “She’s a very standoffish cat.” Not to mention, this was the second try to get her and she had no interest in going into a trap. We decided to not return her because she sounded terrible with a URI, maybe even some pneumonia? Anyway, after a peaceful nap, we have gotten some antibiotics and other meds and vitamins in her. And turns out, she’s a sweetheart!
Well the quarantine is over and we can say our babies are officially FIV- and FeLV negative! Clyde, Amelia, and Pete are cleared for adoption. Dreyfus (tabby and white) is scheduled for entropion surgery and neuter next week. A little help with his surgery would be great! We just had Mama Chan’s hospitalization, helped another kitten with entropion, as well as all the other kitties we are helping and neutering.
If you are interested in adopting Amelia, Clyde, or Pete, please complete an application with LiFeline Cat Rescue and Network Inc as they will be handling the adoptions.

Our Story
Batta Cats started as a page after a friend asked for help with a stray male cat. This cat would find his way to her balcony for a meal every night. She did not have the space to bring him in so, because we already had a revolving door of foster cats, (plus 4 of our own) I said sure. We were able to get him in a carrier and I whisked him home. He was torn up. Open wound around his neck, scratches, fur looked thin, he was on the thin side, but still a big cat. My friend was calling him Bobby so we named him Bobby McGee. I took Bobby McGee to the vet as soon as possible to get him vaccinated and neutered and learned he was FIV+. That was ok by me but not ok with the adoption center I fostered and volunteered with (at the time. They have since began taking FIV+ cats! YAY) So Bobby McGee became my foster that I now needed to find a home for. That’s when Batta Cats, the page, came about. It was a resource to find Bobby McGee a home. After a few months and some bleak prospects, we decided Bobby found his home with us and we welcomed our 5th cat to our family.
Bobby McGee was a GREAT cat. He cuddled on us like a baby, purred, drooled, was so sweet with all the other cats. Just a big, gentle dude. We loved him so much. He did well with the continued revolving door of fosters, tolerated the bratty kittens, and was never, ever, mean or aggressive to any of the baby cats.
Fast forward to only 1 1/2 years later, February 2019. Bobby was looking a little thin and sleeping a lot. We took him to the vet and learned he was dehydrated and not doing well. He was hospitalized for several days while we had an out of town trip and the vets wondered if he had FIP. Upon our return we put him on steroids and brought him home. After about 2-3 days, he bounced out of it, much to our relief. A few months later, same thing. He lost interest in food so we bought anything and everything to encourage food. Back on steroids and the vet said they thought it was just from the FIV. We already thought we would have to say goodbye once, made an appointment to say goodbye the second time and canceled it. Finally we went to another vet to get a second opinion. An ultrasound was conducted and it was confirmed, our sweet boy had Lymphoma. Absolute heartbreak. Because we knew he had already been battling this for several months, we chose to give Bobby lots of love and comfort. A few weeks later, we said our tearful goodbyes and continue to shed tears to this day for the handsome guy with the beat up ears, fantastic cuddles, and drool for days.
After Bobby crossed, it became even more of a mission to help cats like Bobby. The abandoned, “stray,” lost, feral, community cat. I had already begun to volunteer at another organization learning to TNR. I started to do it on my own when I could and became very passionate about these forgotten souls. Batta Cats could do more than just be spoiled kitties that came into our household. Batta Cats could make Bobby McGee proud. Batta Cats can help more community cats.
Our mission is to help with TNR efforts in our community. Not only trap the cats; teach others how to do it. Find the young and friendly cats homes. Help the injured and ill cats. STOP the cycle. Our Bobby McGee was too precious to be getting beat up and having a hard time finding his next meal...and we know there are many more Bobby McGee’s out there.
