Rosemary and all her cuteness is here to help us kick off Tuesday’s feed fundraiser! This week, we must raise $700 to receive our feed delivery, and we’re asking for your help to reach that goal. Every donated dollar helps feed over 80 rescued residents in our care. All of SAHH’s residents have been rescued from different forms of abuse, neglect, and abandonment, and we promise them safe sanctuary. Your donations help us keep this promise. Hi friends! We haven’t reached our last two fundraising goals, and you may have seen that our ranch truck broke down last week, costing over $800 to repair😭, which sadly put us behind a week in paying for our feed. This is last week’s feed invoice that we must pay before getting our feed order this week. We have the most supportive community, and I just know that together we can raise the $634 we need! Our beast is down. 😭 Our old ranch truck, the one we use to get our Costco food donations each week and the one that picks up feed that keeps us going, decided it didn’t want to start. We can’t be down for very long, so we had to have it towed to the mechanic, crossing our fingers that it’s something easy. She’s not a youngster anymore, but she is one of the best ones made. She has many more miles. This is just a hiccup, hopefully not an expensive one. If you would like to donate to our ranch truck please add a note that says “truck” to PayPal @ sahh4life

Hello, my name is Teri Crutchfield and I am the founder and Director of, Saving Animals & Healing Hearts, and for my birthday this year I want to try something new.

Wednesday, January 8th, I will be turning 65. Hard to believe, right? Nevertheless, here I am. I have dedicated my life to saving animals and promised our residents forever… that promise sometimes gets difficult. But it’s a new year and it’s almost my birthday so I want to ask 300 friends and followers out there that believe in us to donate $10 today, for my birthday… it would mean the world to me!

Just 10 dollars from 300 friends, seems so reachable and would go incredibly far for our rescued residents! These funds are going to purchase decomposed granite, sand, and the recycled road base that we must put down before the rain starts! These are expenses that are outside of our monthly budget… we do this once a year, and if we don’t, we will absolutely be flooded and all the animals will be standing in muck and mud. It’s sunny today, but the rain’s coming, and we have to be ready.

Happy New Year’s Eve! 2024 has by far been the most challenging year for us to date. There were multiple times when we weren’t sure how we would purchase feed for our residents. We faced large vet bills, like Rocky the tortoise and Cash’s ongoing care. The founder, Teri, underwent and is still recovering from major back surgery. The list is endless, and we felt helpless many times throughout the year. But I’m so proud to say we made it another year! Because of each of you, we are still here, keeping our promise to the 83 rescued residents who call SAHH home. Thank you!

We also want to recognize all of our incredibly hardworking and dedicated volunteers. SAHH has never looked better with fixed gates, upgraded residents’ homes, and even transformed a space into a fully functional recovery room with AC, heat and humidity control! We may be smaller but we are mighty!

With you, our supportive community by our side we just know 2025 will be a better year!

On Saturday, Teri and @jenniferg.46 worked so hard putting down road base before the rain started. We desperately needed road base, as we flood in areas with even a small amount of rain. Still, more work needs to be done, but they laid down about 10 yards in the most critical areas! Our power is off, like many others around San Diego. We’ve been told it won’t be back on until Friday... we’re crossing our fingers it’s on sooner. During the day it’s not so bad but the second that sun goes down it sure is cold. Power on or off, we placed this week’s feed order, totaling $603.71.
