Never say never
Make Sheltie safety part of your routine.
🐿 Leash your Sheltie when in areas not contained by a fence. Don’t let squirrels, rabbits, deer (🐿🐇🦌) lead them on a chase away from home. Even a trained Sheltie has/can go missing. Leash = Love
🐇 Remember to do regular fence checks for holes under the fence and gaps between the posts and a structure.
🔐 Making sure the lock is on the gate so children, utility workers, etc won’t accidentally leave it open.
🐶 For more tips on keeping your Sheltie safe, go to Minnesota Sheltie Rescue web page and read “Prevention of a Lost Sheltie.” Be sure to print off a copy & go over it with those who will be responsible for the care of your Sheltie in your absence. Purchase a baby gate that will fit by the exit door at your pet sitter’s home. The number one reason Shelties go missing while in the care of a pet sitter is they “bolted out the opened door.” Add “an ounce of prevention” to your routine. Never say Never
