We are glad to have the pond filled back up but now the yard is a wet muddy mess. The ducks are loving it.

I have met a very special friend that has been giving me produce that gets donated to her…She is spreading the love and kindness. Last week she gave me loads of romaine and other goodies and not one bird got left out. I could never afford to buy treats for everyone but thankfully for Tiffanie it has finally happened and I know the ducks, chickens, turkeys and guineas appreciate it. Some pictures from today.
It’s just been too cold and crummy to post much but I had to share this good news!

This is what happens if domestic ducks survive to winter. These boys that once were 5 weren’t wanted and dropped off at the local park. One disappeared a couple months ago. Now the pond is frozen and they are hanging out on the ice very confused. I will attempt to catch them tomorrow. I hope they will be ok until I can get them.

This poor one footed guy couldn’t get off the ice. He kept going in circles. Thankfully a good friend seen him and reached out for help after she tried for over an hour to get him. The Springfield Firefighters came right out and got him off the ice. He is now safe. A big shout out to this awesome group of men.
Also, I want to thank Amber for going right out to help get him even though she is sick.

Discarding ducks to fend for themselves is never a good idea. I can’t imagine what this boy went through losing a foot while trying to find food and survive. 💔

Putting on more weight and is now standing and taking short walks. I’m just so so happy for this little lady. I honestly wasn’t too hopeful she would make it. She is so sweet and I’m thankful I was trusted to help her. ❤️

We need a name for this girl.

Should hopefully get into the vet tomorrow. I’m really praying hard she recovers. It really takes a toll when you try so hard to help an animal and they end up passing away.

This cutie came today. Lethargic, open mouth breathing and infested with mites. She weighs 1.6 pounds so also underweight. I hope my vet will get her in tomorrow but Wednesday is surgery day. Say a prayer for this sweet bird. 🙏🏻
