And one more. This one is the easiest and hence my favorite.

Honestly. I don’t add extra water. Mix it a little longer and it will be the perfect consistency to put in ice cube trays. Enjoy! ♥️😎

Watermelon Slushies

This hydrating and refreshing slushie is a fantastic way to keep your dog cool and content during the hot summer months. Watermelon is low in calories and high in water content, making it a healthy and revitalizing treat.

Ingredients:

2 cups seedless watermelon, cubed
1/2 cup coconut water
Instructions:

In a blender, combine the watermelon and coconut water.
Blend until smooth and slushy.
Pour the mixture into a shallow container or ice cube trays.
Freeze for at least 2 hours or until firm.
Scoop out the slush and serve in a bowl to your canine companion. ♥️🐾

Looking for an easy cool treat for your furry friends on a hot day. Here’s a pup favorite

Peanut Butter and Banana Pupsicles

Peanut butter and bananas are a match made in heaven for dogs, and these popsicles provide the perfect blend of both flavors. These treats are high in potassium, fiber, and healthy fats.

Ingredients:

2 ripe bananas
1/2 cup unsweetened peanut butter (xylitol-free)
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
Instructions:

In a blender, combine the bananas, peanut butter, and Greek yogurt.
Blend until smooth and creamy.
Pour the mixture into ice cube trays or into a frozen dog treat mold.
Freeze for at least 4 hours or until solid.
Remove from molds and serve to your pup on a hot day!

Have fun and enjoy !! Of course. You can have one too. ♥️🐾

With summer months approaching it’s always wise to remember they can sometimes be uncomfortable—even dangerous for your pets. It's difficult enough to cope with rising temperatures, let alone thick humidity.

One important thing to remember is to take special care when exercising your pet. Adjust intensity and duration of exercise in accordance with the temperature. On very hot days, limit exercise to early morning or evening hours. Asphalt gets very hot and can burn your pet's paws, so walk your dog on the grass when possible. Always carry water with you to keep your dog from dehydrating.

Summer days and family outings can be so much fun with your pets when you follow some simple steps to keep them safe and healthy Be safe And enjoy you summer ❤️🐾

The weather has been perfect to get out and enjoy these cooler days with your furry friends Have you been thinking about taking a hike with your pet?? Before you do it’s always best to make sure your dog is capable of the physical exertion involved in a hike. This will vary based on your pet’s age, weight, breed, health history and the trail you’re planning on hiking. Also keep the seasonal temperature in mind: dogs can overheat if exerting a lot of energy outdoors on hot days. And even though these fall days start out on the cooler side they can get very warm by mid day. And just like we check with our doctors it’s always a good idea to ask your veterinarian for assistance determining your dog’s limits Especially if this is a new activity for you and your furry friend

It’s a great way to bond with your pet as well as giving them the exercise they need and crave. Remember extra water for your furry friend Of course collars, tags and always keep them on a leash. Be safe and have fun ❤️🐾

Just like people who get too much sun, dogs also get red skin that is tender to the touch. The most susceptible areas—the nose, ears and tummy—are likely to show overexposure before fur-covered areas. Look for dry, cracked skin and curling at the edges of the ears. Other signs of doggy sunburn are constant scratching in tender places accompanied by a whimper, and shrinking away when you try to pet him/her. And be especially careful of extended exposure if you give your furry buddies that summer haircut

If sunburn is severe, your dog may even get a slight fever If you suspect your pet has a sunburn, at minimum a call to your veterinarian is recommended. Keep a watchful eye on these hot summer days because you know your best friend depends on you to keep them safe and healthy ❤️🐾. Be safe and enjoy this beautiful weather.

We hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend and these beautiful days. Sadly it brings on some nasty reminders of the tricks spring plays on us all. Our pets included. Let us remind you of a couple springtime hazards for your pets.

First and one we never want to deal with is Parasites
Spring is the time when ticks, fleas and other little creepy crawlies come out and attach themselves to us and our pets. Ticks can come out when temperatures reach 45 degrees and above. It is important to talk with your veterinarian about the different types of prevention you can acquire and which one would be the best fit for your pets.

And of course Toxic Lawn Treatments
When out and about your pet might decide they would like to have a little snack on some grass which is usually harmless unless it has some sort of lawn treatment on it. A lot of these brands have toxic chemicals in them that can cause seizures, vomiting, and even possibly death. It is vital that if you plan to use any sort of treatment to make sure your pets steer clear of the area. Investigate the treatments you use on your own lawns and plants and if you don’t know whet your neighbors use stay away. Better to be safe than sorry.

Enjoy these wonderful spring days with your best friends but always remember our furry buddies depend on us to keep them safe ♥️🐾

Grooming, Pests and Disease

It’s always best to keep our pets well-groomed, but not to shave long-haired dogs or cats to the skin as fur insulates from heat, protects from sunburn and can buffer burrs, thorns and other piercing objects. Giving a daily thorough brushing to prevent matted fur which can harbor pests, create sores and keep in heat. Always apply veterinarian-approved flea and tick preventive to ward off the itchies and keep tick-borne diseases at bay and stay up-to-date on vaccinations In our area it’s important to not downplay the importance of heartworm testing BEFORE you see your first mosquito. Prevention always costs less than the cure I’ve just recently tried a products for my own dog that covers fleas ticks and Heartworm all in one treat like pill. She gobbles it up once a month and we’re done. If your pet is difficult with these treatments ask your vet about it.

Enjoy this weather. And keep those bugs away. 🐾💔

As springtime pumps up everything is turning green and flowers are blooming. We all love getting outside with our pets

Cats and dogs love spending time in the garden so watch out for poisonous plants. Toxic species common at this time of year include lilies, daffodils and azaleas. Daffodils can be toxic, particularly the bulbs. The flower heads can also cause vomiting, diarrhoea and lethargy. These signs can be seen from 15 minutes to the following day

One of the first signs of spring has always been bluebells. But as pleasing as they are to see all parts of the bluebell are poisonous to dogs. Again ingestion can cause vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal discomfort

Enjoy this beautiful weather. But be safe out there. Our pets depend on us ♥️🐾
