Chase is helping me with my new puppy training ebook, guiding owners through their pup's first six weeks! ♥️🐾 Thanks to @abiameen for her help in teaching and taking video!
Teaching Lacey some fun and useful tricks. 🙂 We get really excited about her progress, especially since she would hide rather than take food from people when we first started!
Happy Weeenter Everybody! ❄️
From Sit.Stay.Fetch! and our spokespuppy of the day, Kona ❤️
Angus is the (dog) man! He did great with off-leash recall today with prairie dog distractions. He is a Husky/Shepherd Mix so this is BIG TIME awesome!
Remember Ross from a few months back? Well he is STILL up for adoption and it is baffling to me. No, he’s not perfect... but he’s perfectly Ross: sweet, social, smart quirky, and active. Today we had a training lesson in “leave it”, and he did GREAT (of course). He will make someone the best personal trainer, buddy and entertainer. His ideal home would have another dog to play with, adults or older kids (young kids would leave food on counters for Ross to steal;)). He’s looking for an experienced dog person who can understand him, exercise and teach him with patience and bond/reward-based training methods— is that you?? PM me for more info, he’s available through Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue . I just love Ross!
Looking at Lucky walking today, you wouldn’t know that he was a reactive dog with little social skills around other dogs. He’s doing so well parallel walking with Coba. We are rewarding for look-aways and affiliative behavior. If you need help with your reactive dog, call Coba 😂🐶 (or me), and we will help!
Angus, learning how to step on his water fountain contraption! Next step is plugging it into the hose and teaching him he has access to fresh water anytime he wants it.
Lucky and his vibrating tail! Love seeing dogs responding to their first training day. :)
Making “bath time” cooperative and fun. Aspen has a history of hiding and growling at her family when anticipating bath time!
Gabby, the puppykitty, joining Addy and I for our walk today! :)🐶🐱
I am so very thankful for my regulars— dogs I see every week for training or enrichment and love like my own. Like Mr. Rodin here! ❤️🐾
Beautiful day for leash work! Here I’m praising Brady for slowing down and checking in after distraction. Stay with me, young pup!! ;)
I'm very happy with Coba's off leash behavior at 6 months. 😀 He's checking in, keeping up and coming when called. For all of those who have or have raised adolescent dogs, you know that this is good stuff to keep up with through the teenage months!!
A word of caution: puppies undergo what is called flight instinct at some point during their 4-8 month mark. Always keep your dog on the leash during this time (if you don't know when your dog is experiencing it)-- it usually lasts about two weeks! Dog is gaining independence and and may follow his nose or his eyes toward a distraction and get lost.
Another fun Spring Agility season! Check out Geo and Annie's awesome run at his beginner class! Good job to all that attended.
