Santa Paws Walk it a time honored tradition for pets and their family in the Tallahassee area. We plan on continuing their dream.

Event includes but not limited to a fun pet contest, photos of your pet and family with Santa, a raffle, great photo opportunities and great vendors. Tallahassee Big Dog Rescue will be continuing the Santa Paws Walk around Lake Leon. For the last 20 years Jan, Cyndi and all the volunteers with TREATS have put on this amazing event for our community. It has become a tradition for families to come,

have their picture taken with Santa, show off their fur babies and enjoy a leisure walk around Lake Leon all by helping the homeless animals in our community. This year the proceeds will go to help the animals of Tallahassee Big Dog Rescue. We will post the sign up sheets and full details of the event in the weeks to come. Date will be 2nd Saturday of December at Lake Leon, Tom Brown Park.

We are excited to welcome the American Cancer Society and the Veteran’s Administration to this year’s Santa Paws 🐾 Walk. They will be setting up community information tables at Tom Brown on Saturday!

While you are attending this years Santa Paws Walk please stop by and meet the nice people with the Big Bend Disaster Animal Response Team. They work diligently during disasters to set up pet friendly shelters and rescue and retrieve pets left behind during disasters and evacuations.

We are super excited that this year Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Animal Therapy will be joining us at our Santa Paws Walk. They have been helping people in our area since 2005, and are the only program of its kind in the Big Bend region.
What is Animal Therapy?
Whether it is helping a child learn to read or helping a grown man learn to walk again - with over 200 teams, these animals and their handlers are making a powerful impact clinically and emotionally with patients. Visiting over 70 different facilities a year, animal therapy spreads far beyond hospital walls.

We are excited that YouCanMakeADifference will be joining us this year. This is their first year participating so please make sure you check out her booth and her wonderful pets available for adoption. YOUCANMAKEADIFFERENCE serves Gadsden Co.resident, both 2 legged and four legged.we provide free to $5 dollars spay, neuter vouchers, and for a minimal fee residents can also secure vaccinations and microchip for their companion pet (Rabies vaccine not included). To keep their pets healthy qualifying residents can benefit from free pet food assistance. The community I'm general can also benefit from our free pet food distribution program. In addition, we rescue, rehabilitate and adopt out smakl dogs and cats surrendered, abandoned, and /or scheduled for euthanasia. We are getting super excited. This year we will be having a Halloween Christmas booth. Thanks to Walmart and their wonderful donation of 9 cases of doggie Halloween costumes every entry will get to pick out a few Halloween costumes for each of their furbabies.

Well it's that time of the year that we are starting to plan the 2023 Santa Paws Event. Would like everyone to know that we already have lots of cute items for the raffle and give aways. We hope everyone will join us again this year; last year was a blast. Please Keep posted for updates.
