We’re thrilled to share some exciting news! Safari Encounters is moving and evolving into Wine Country Zoological! Our new location offers a huge space upgrade, allowing us to introduce more tours, welcome additional animals, and provide an even better experience for all our visitors.

Important Dates:

Last bookings at our current location: August 10, 2024
Grand reopening at our new facility: September 2024

The new facility is only 15 minutes away from our current spot, so it will still be convenient for all our wonderful supporters and returning tours to see the animals you know and love.

Stay tuned for more updates and sneak peeks as we prepare to unveil Wine Country Zoological. Thank you for being part of our journey, and we can’t wait to welcome you to our new FOREVER home! 🦥❤️

Happy world turtle day! We’re immensely thankful to have the opportunity to house 19 turtles/tortoises here with 9 different species!! There are over 350 species out there and many are endangered/ critically endangered. Fun Fact: Common snapping turtles are native to the US but they aren’t natively found in California. Due to the illegal pet trade many of this species are brought into the state and released. As a result they decimate the native ecosystem and then get brought to places like us or risk being euthanized. Please do the turtles a favor and the environment a favor by being responsible

Education teams are out all over the Bay Area today! Sonoma and Oakland school district’s this morning, Oakland again tomorrow.

We love visiting each school and love sharing our passion of animals with you. We fund our rescue, therapy programs, and community projects through these educational programs so it means the world to us. To book your school send an email to [email protected] limit availability so the animals have plenty of downtime :)

We often talk about our programs for children’s hospitals like George Mark Children’s House in addition to other local hospitals and organizations like “Make a Wish”. We don’t often get to share these intimate moments with our followers but we do thank you for the support in any way you can - donations, tours, sharing posts, or just talking. It helps us continue these programs at no cost to the families, organizations, or hospitals. Special thanks to Tyler’s family for allowing us to share these and be a small part of his life.

Every visit, every person, every family holds a special place in our hearts. Please know that. These are the most difficult programs we do.

Bringing our animal friends to visit Tyler was a privilege, and his love for them was evident in his smile. His gentle demeanor and genuine affection for all of our animals -scaley, feathered, and furred - touched the hearts of everyone he met, leaving a lasting impression on us and our beloved animals alike. Though Tyler may be gone, his spirit lives on in the wild wonders he adored. Rest in peace & comfort, dear sweet friend.
