We are thrilled to introduce âLucky Charmsâ, the newest addition to our crew! Lucky is a baby barn owl and a remarkable rescue story. An incorrect splint placed by a well-meaning but medically untrained member of the public caused our little owl so much harm. They waited to bring him to a wildlife center and unfortunately his leg set making him unreleasable and a case no one wanted to touch. Lucky endured immense pain and a prolonged recovery, with uncertain prospects ALL because they didnât IMMEDIATELY take him to a wildlife center. If he wouldâve been taken to a center they couldâve reset his leg and he would be back in the wild where we wish he could be.
Despite the odds, Lucky has persevered, and we are honored to provide him a permanent home. Due to his healed but impaired leg, Lucky is unreleasable, but weâre committed to ensuring he thrives in our care. We are forever grateful for our master falconer Morgan Campbell who stayed up all hours providing *experienced* round the clock care, our veterinarian Dr. Dan Famini, who selflessly cares for all of our animals regardless of how extreme of a case we bring him. We couldnât have saved luckys life without these two people and YOU! Our programs, donations, and those who share our stories are how we fund these stories. Ivar is on the move again!
LOOK AT WHO IS PLAYING AGAIN!
We have officially named him âIvar the Bonelessâ due to originally dragging the back legs and his current brittle bone issues.
Heâs still got a long way to go but this is a major step in the right direction. From barely moving his head on thanksgiving night to somewhat mobility today.
Big thank you to all who have donated to help us provide for him. We arenât out of the woods yet but we are happy heâs doing better. We still have a lot of medical costs and now a special needs enclosure to build in order to give him the best chance of regaining all of his mobility later on.

Bobcat update
Yesterday our amazing veterinarian helped us get some better X-rays, blood panels, and other tests done.
We were able to rule out a very scary surgery for now but we have a LONG road to recovery with multiple broken bones and extreme malnutrition.
We are up every couple hours providing critical level care.
This was a bobcat bought from a breeder out of state and illegally transported into CA to an unlicensed owner.
