Thanks so much for such high praise! It’s much appreciated and I am so glad to hear Pawl is doing well!❤️

I’ve been sticking to, “easy” and “fluffy” posts all week because behind the scenes it’s been a long, exceptionally busy, exhausting week. Sometimes getting through the tasks of the day leaves me with nothing for the end and telling you about it. I owe a lot of thank you’s this week though so I’ll begin with this one.

💕Pawl had his neuter surgery. Normally not a procedure that we stress about one bit, but Pawl, as you all know, has severe subaortic stenosis and pulmonic stenosis. We entertained leaving Pawl intact due to this, but Pawl was becoming less easy to live with and more and more, “gross boy.” I’ll spare you the details but let’s just say that it needed to be done if Pawl was going to live with females of any species, humans included.😜
We called in the big gun, Dr. Ovbey, a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist, to run his anesthesia, the challenging part of the surgery given his condition. Dr. Jones of Portside Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Ovbey teamed up for the procedure and our boy came through it with flying colors. He had the absolute BEST post-op recovery team a boy could hope for (Tiny- pictured below) and an entire clinic staff waiting on him hand and foot. Pawl may be a, “hospice” foster as we don’t know what his heart conditions mean for tomorrow but he’s currently very busy living and we will give him nothing but the very best care while he’s here. 💕Thank you to the Portside Veterinary Hospital team, and to Dr. Ovbey of Southeast Veterinary Anesthesia Services for giving this sweet boy the very best care and to Jenna, Matt and Tiny for loving this boy.💕
💕Thank you to those that donate and support our work allowing us to render the very best care to all of our rescues.💕

Veterinary Anesthesiologists Can...

Southeast Veterinary Anesthesia Services (SEVAS) provides veterinary anesthesia and pain management services for pet patients at veterinary clinics throughout Charleston, South Carolina and surrounding areas. Primary care veterinarians can partner with us to confidently treat more pets knowing that high-risk patients are under the care of a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist.

Trust in our Expertise

Dianna Ovbey, DVM, MS, DACVAA, is an experienced board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist. She has provided anesthesia and analgesia expertise in both academic and private practice settings on both small (dogs and cats) and large animals (tigers and elephants). She has worked in conjunction with veterinary specialists in nearly every field, including surgery, dentistry, radiation oncology, internal medicine, and emergency/critical care. Because of her credentials and exclusive focus on the safe administration of anesthesia and appropriate pain management, Dr. Ovbey is uniquely qualified to provide the most advanced care from examination to induction, through to recovery and restoration of quality of life.

Most importantly, Dr. Ovbey works together with your pet’s primary care veterinarian, focusing on the safety and comfort of your pet from premedication through recovery from anesthesia. If your pet is at a higher anesthetic risk, or you are concerned about general anesthesia, please don’t hesitate asking your veterinarian about teaming up with SEVAS.
