Want your business to be the top-listed Pet Store/pet Service?
I have been a Certified Trainer in Kings County for 10 years. Started my professional training at PetSmart, and later branching off into my own business helping people with their canine companions. I have been partnered with the City of Lemoore Parks and Recreation for the past 7 years, offering an affordable solution to helping people and their dogs. I love what I do and really enjoy seeing my clients and fur-babies grow into a great working team! Having worked with many breeds, personalities, and rescued dogs, I have learned so much about dog behavior. I work with many adopters of shelter animals, helping them to integrate into their new forever homes and lives. Having a back ground and experience in training my horse has helped tremendously in understanding animal behavior as well. This has helped with creating creative solutions to problems that you may have. I am also in the process of starting a new dog myself, River, who is pictured above. I just adopted River from Valley Animal Haven and I am excited to work with him and watch him grow as my dog I get to take to classes! Being a rescue, we are facing a few challenges, but are making huge strides every day!
I volunteer at Valley Animal Haven and work with several of the dogs there. Every week a volunteer brings a shelter dog from VAH to the group class to better evaluate the dogs and give them a few days away from the shelter environment. This has helped in several ways, one it helps the shelter gather information about the dog in a less stressful situation, gives a chance at a home visit, and see how the dog behaves off site. It also helps the dogs in training class as it gives them a new dog every week that they get to socialize with, and have to learn to work with a new distraction.
Classes are fun, positive and engaging. Focusing mostly on basic manners, Sit, Stay, Down, Recall, Leash walking, Jumping, Leave It, and just a overall relationship with your dog. If there is an issue that you are having with your dog, that maybe others in class are not, I will address them with you or add to the class for others to also learn. Because of this, sometimes one class is a bit different then others that I have taught. Dogs are always challenging me to be fluid in class, and come up with creative in solutions. Treats are a very important part of any positive reinforcement program! Don’t worry about the amounts of treats it takes to learn a new behavior, as these can be used less as they master what they are learning. After all, would you want to go to work everyday if you were not getting paid? Most dogs get paid by a simple treat and it motivates them to do it again, and they tend to learn much faster if they are rewarded.
I also provide private training if the group class schedule will not work, or if you just like working one on one. You will need to contact me if you are interested in this option. If you want to take a class with a few family member or friends, we can arrange a group session that way as well.
