Happy Adoption Day, Wick!

Wick came to DRU this summer due to his owner’s health challenges. While he often found himself as the runner-up in meet-and-greets, his moment to shine finally arrived! Wick's new dad, Paul, recognized what a true treasure Wick is.

Today, we said goodbye to Bolo, our very special boy.

Bolo was with us for two and a half years, after being found as a stray on the streets of New York. Due to ongoing medical issues, Bolo remained in our care and became a beloved member of the DRU family. With his gentle soul, playful spirit, and heartfelt sweetness, Bolo quickly captured the hearts of everyone who met him. The staff and volunteers cared for him as if he were their own, showering him with love and attention every step of the way.

Bolo reminds us that every dog has a purpose. His purpose was to show us the importance of giving Dobermans, like him, a second chance. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts. ❤️

Though Bolo's time with us has come to an end, his love and loyalty will always stay in our hearts. Run free, sweet Bolo. You always had your forever home and family here at DRU.

From California to New England: 12 Dobes Saved!

Yesterday, 12 Dobermans arrived safely at DRU from Bella and Sunshine Rescue in California, and we couldn’t be prouder to have played a role in saving these incredible dogs. We already know—every single one of them is absolutely worth it. ❤️

These beautiful dogs came to us from heartbreaking situations: some were pulled from shelters just hours before scheduled euthanasia, while others were rescued from severe neglect, where survival was measured in weeks or even hours. Thanks to the dedication and collaboration of Bella and Sunshine Rescue, these Dobermans now have a second chance at life here in New England.

But the work is far from over. While these 12 lucky Dobermans begin their journey toward brighter futures, many others are still sitting in California shelters, waiting for their chance—and sadly, not all will make it.

We are committed to helping as many Dobermans as we can, but we need your support. Together, we can save lives and give even more dogs the futures they deserve.

Kobe has found his forever home!

This handsome boy came to DRU during a challenging time—his previous family faced a separation and had difficulty finding new housing that accepted large breed dogs. But after a short stay with us, Kobe has been welcomed into a new, loving home! ❤️

Congratulations to Kobe and his new family! We’re so happy to see him off to a fresh start. Thank you for giving this sweet boy, our big guy, his happily ever after! 🐾

This Veterans Day, we salute the courageous men, women, and military working dogs who’ve served our country. Their bravery, dedication, and sacrifice remind us of the true cost of freedom.

Mental stimulation plays a crucial role in keeping our Dobermans content and fulfilled while they wait for their forever homes.
