Reclaimed Wood Art As far back as my memory goes (as some of you know, it’s not very far) I have loved to make things. Not just figuratively, but with my hands.
I went to high school in the olden days when you could take woodworking and photography and sewing. I took all three…multiple times, much to the chagrin of my counselor. Going to school each day meant I could build, develop, and compose. Whether it was something pretty or useful or just because, I loved putting a little bit of myself into something. Fast forward fourteen family building years late
r and our family found itself complete with the four of us. The kids grew and became a little more independent giving me time to build! Halleluiah! In the meantime, my mom went on a hike with my grandpa. The same hike he had taken for years, decades even. It was a loop on a hill near his house where his dogs could run and he could get some much needed peace and quiet. My mom saw an old and weathered piece of wood and thought it was interesting…but what would she do with it? Well, that day she left it as it lay. A year later they were on the same hike, this time she brought the wood home to me. It was love at first dirty-old-weathered -wood sight. I painted it, hung it and love it. A friend happened to love it too and kept NAGGING me (thanks Jen!) to make some more pieces and take it to a friend who owns an awesome little shop here in Boise. I finally did and Gabrielle at Beewise goods said yes to my stuff (oh happy day!) and so it began. My grandpa still hikes Dictionary Hill most days. He’s one spry 83 year old. I hope it’s genetic.

Wowzers Boise! What an amazing day! I forget how much fun this is😊 The kiddos came home this evening and made more earrings because they almost sold out!👏🏻 I Can’t believe they have been in business for so long, check out how little they were when they started😍We’re open tomorrow, Sunday the 18th, from 10-5.
