We know that there are and have been many veterans among WAIF’s staff, volunteers, and supporters. We salute them and thank them for their service. We spent the afternoon at the Coupeville shelter meeting two new dogs and getting photos of a few of the cats and kittens there. Take a look to see if any of them might be your new best friend! Please give us a call at (360) 678-8901 if you have questions about these or other animals in our care. Learn more about WAIF and other available animals on our webpage, https://waifanimals.org/.

We paid a visit to WAIF’s Oak Harbor cat adoption center this afternoon and found it to be a busy place. Quite a few folks were stopping in to visit with the cats and others watched and interacted with them through the big front window or the window in the adjoining thrift store. Both cats and people seemed to be having a lot of fun! We have pictures of some of the cats there. We hope that if you are thinking of adding a feline friend to your family, you’ll stop in to meet these beautiful cats. Please give us a call at (360) 678-8901 if you have questions. Ace Hardware Oak Harbor and their generous customers did it again! Customers rounded up their Ace purchases to raise nearly $1,700 for WAIF animals! With shelters overcrowded with animals waiting for homes, we are immensely grateful for everyone's generosity and compassion. Thank you!

We've been more than a little behind in posting our latest adoptions. We'll get back on track, but in the meantime, take a look at all the happy adopters with their new family members!

We hope that with all the wind and rain, you still have power! It has been flickering off and on all day. Fortunately for WAIF, today’s outages at the Coupeville shelter did not last very long. We also hope you and your furry friends are staying safe and warm in spite of the storm. We visited the shelter and got pictures of several new animals that are now available for adoption. If you have questions about these or other animals in our care, please give us a call at (360) 678-8901. Learn more about WAIF and other available animals on our webpage, https://waifanimals.org/.

WAIF’s shelter dogs had a great afternoon when a break in the weather allowed the sun to come out. Staff and volunteers took advantage of that nice weather to get pups out so they could walk on the trails, zoom around in the play yard, and work on training skills. We have dog photos to share and also two new cats to introduce. Please give us a call at (360) 678-8901 if you have any questions. Learn more about WAIF and other available animals on our webpage, https://waifanimals.org/.

The weather forecasters are advising that more stormy weather is heading our way so please make sure you and your furry friends stay safe. We spent part of this afternoon visiting the cats at WAIF’s Oak Harbor cat adoption center. It was a busy place with lots of visitors stopping by to pet and play with the cats. Here are photos of just a few of the beautiful felines that are there waiting for their furever families. Please give us a call at (360) 678-8901 if you have questions. Your pets deserve Halloween treats, too! Stop by our Coupeville shelter this Saturday, Oct. 26, from 12pm-4pm and pick up a bag of dog or cat treats when you donate a bag of pet food to our "Treats for Treats" food drive! All donated food will help feed our shelter animals, or go to animals in need in our community through our pet food banks. With the holiday season approaching and more than 180 animals in our care, your support at this critical juncture will make a serious impact!

Don't forget to wear your Halloween costume when you stop by on Oct. 26—and bring your pet in their costume, too! 🎃👻
