Since the Australian Terrier Standard has changed in 2021 to include either Natural tails or Docked, the page name has changed. This FB Page is intended to educate the public and a forum for breeders with dogs with tails to share their experiences. Whether it is in the show ring, or their perspective on their own Aussie's with natural tails. The AKC US Standard sets the "Breed Standard" in the US,

which in the case of tails, states docked. The Standard which the US standard was set, in Australia has changed to natural, undocked. They can no longer even show a dog with a docked tail. As a breeder, I would like to evaluate the type of tails I produce, as someone that has Aussies with tails, one can not deny the tails provide much expression. There is no valid purpose to dock the tails. In fact, an undocked tail is used for balance and can be quite helpful in agility. My opinion, as the administrator of this page, is it should be the Breeder's Option, whether or not they decide to dock their dogs tails. I hope in time the Standard is changed accordingly.
