Job Overview:
We are seeking a LOCAL HUNTERDON COUNTY RESIDENT, flexible, reliable and compassionate part-time Pet Sitter/Dog Walker and/or Overnight Sitter to join our team. As a pet care team member you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to pets in their own home while their owners are away or at work. This is a great opportunity for animal lovers who enjoy spending time with a variety of pets and ensuring their well-being. Active retirees and stay-at-home parents with children at school during the day are encouraged to apply! This is an Independent contractor position and a dependable, independent work ethic is required.

Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home pet care services including feeding, walking, cleaning up after and playing with pets
- Administer medications and follow any special dietary or medical instructions provided by pet owners
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets at all times
- Monitor pets for any signs of distress or illness and report any concerns to the pet owner
- Follow specific care instructions for each pet, including grooming, exercise routines, and training methods
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to provide updates on their pets' well-being
- Handle any emergencies or unexpected situations that may arise during pet sitting assignments
- Be flexible and dependable. This job entails being availbale some weekends, nights and holidays.
Skills:
- Strong animal handling skills, including experience with various types of animals such as dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small mammals
- Knowledge of animal care best practices and ability to provide basic grooming and hygiene tasks
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including leash training and basic obedience commands
- Verifiable experience in equine and farm animal care is a plus!
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the pet and the pet sitter
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with pet owners in a professional and friendly manner
- Basic knowledge of positive reinforcement dog training methods is an asset
- Must be willing to submit to a background check and provide previous animal care (paid or unpaid) experience
- Must have relaible transportation and be able to navigate our mobile client app
