It's our 20 year Anniversary and boy how time flies!! 😺😺

The PURRfect KITTY, a haven for felines in need, is dedicated to providing a loving home for cats who cannot be adopted, while also helping find forever homes for those who can.

We're so happy that we're still playing our part in the kitty world and doing what we can to help our feline friends. 😻😻

Animal lovers....

Please... if you suspect something's wrong, even the slightest thing, please do/say something.

The other day we went to a house that looked a bit neglected, nothing crazy... just needed a new paint job, but the property was landscaped, so if you were just driving through the area, you might not think too much about it.

But.. if you lived in the neighborhood, where all the other houses are very well kept, you would have to know that something isn't right at that one house. Sometimes it might just be an elderly person who doesn't have the funds or energy to do more upkeep... but sometimes it's much, much more.

Inside the home we went to it was horrific!! The condition was not livable for any person or animal. We're not going to share all the photos and videos, but here is a quick video of two older cats (16 & 17) isolated to one room.

The entire floor was covered in urine, f***s, litter, old plates and cans. The smell was unbearable. The one cat not viewable, is very sick and both cats smelled horrible.

The rest of the home had three more elderly cats (16) and a Tortoise living in a filthy small tank with pink water and small flies. The tank was sitting on the floor next to her bed that was not even in a bedroom. The bed was surrounded by old garbage, heavy dust and heavy ammonia (urine) smell throughout the home. There was no running water, no use of the kitchen or bathroom. The entire place was just awful and sadly, the woman was living in these conditions with her pets.

So if you think something might not be right with a house in your neighborhood, please, please make a phone call and ask for a "welfare check". You might just save a life! 🙏❤️

Authorities are now involved with this home and will escalate the proper protocols for both the animals and the owner.

This beautiful and sweet 3 yr. old boy was sitting in a cage at a municipal shelter for 6 months! Why in the world? 😿

Because he had a tendency to bite without warning! 😬

So we pulled him from there without judgment and brought him to our facility and he is thriving!

He loves his indoor and safe outdoor home with us and he has many friends AND ... he no longer bites! 😺

We worked with him and figured out what his "trigger" was and taught him that it's okay and there's no need to bite.

Because he truly enjoys having both indoor and outdoor access at our safe facility, we wouldn't think to place him in a home now.

He is living the best of both worlds and is as happy as can be ... and he will live out his life with us.

This is one of the hardest posts we ever had to display in over 17 years.

Our hearts are completely crushed by the loss of our most amazing resident ever ... handsome, sweet, loving, funny "PJ".

He was loved by every person and every kitty at the Shelter. Even the staff at the Vet. office fell in love with him.

PJ was diagnosed with a rare heart condition earlier this year and was on medicine. Sadly, PJ had a heart attack and succumbed to his illness. Thankfully he was not alone when this happened, but it was a devastating moment.

To say he will be missed is truly an understatement. There are no words to express how great this loss is to our Shelter. He touched everyone and every kitty. The Shelter will never be the same without his presence.

PJ was rescued on 9-1-2011 at approximately 3.5 yrs. old. He has brought so much joy to us for 12 yrs. We are truly grateful to have had the privilege to know and care for this amazing boy.

We will always remember this incredibly, great kitty "PJ".
RIP our dearest, sweet friend. We love you forever. ❤❤❤
