Poor Nermal! The other day we noticed her limping and took her to the vet for x-rays. Sure enough, she had a small fracture in her paw. We suspect Suki (her mom) stepped on her because there aren't any other hazards in her pen.
The good news is, she just needs to wear the splint for a month and will be all better by the time she's 8 weeks old and ready to go! This shouldn't affect her life at all.
Though a little awkward and clumsy, she doesn't seem to mind the splint and just keeps on playing! As much as we hate for things like this to happen, we're thankful it wasn't worse.
3 ways to level up your gardening game. Here at Joley Aire, the dogs pull their weight by “helping” in the vegetable garden which feeds our family - here are three different ways our dogs impact our garden:
1. Keeping critters away - Even if our dogs aren’t outside in the garden all the time, their scent scares away the rabbits and deer that would otherwise dine on our plants. If a rabbit does make the mistake of hanging around when the dogs are out, they’ll teach them a lesson with a good chase!
2. Turning the compost pile - Sometimes the dogs think it’s fun to dig around in the compost pile. I don’t appreciate the stink and dirt, but try to console myself with the fact that I won’t have to do all that heavy digging.
3. Fur! Did you know that fur, being a biological material, can be very beneficial for the garden? Fur is naturally high in nitrogen and can be composted or placed on top of the soil as mulch. We do all our own grooming, so fur runs in abundance at our place. It’s nice to be able to put it to good use in the garden.

Are you guilty of letting your dogs lick the dishes? I’ll admit, we tend to let our dogs pre-rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I figure the dishwasher does a pretty good job sanitizing any germs and the dogs enjoy the tasty treat. Plus, anything we can do to reduce feed costs is worth it, right? On the other hand, it makes me a little more hesitant to have friends over for dinner 😅. Do you let your dogs pre-rinse the dishes?

"We made it home to Texas just fine and Aslan fits in great especially with my older female who is 9. She follows him around everywhere and wants to be his mom making sure that he’s not falling in the pool. So far he has had zero accidents every time I take him outside. He goes poo poo and pee pees and his very good. You two raise amazing dogs thank you so much!"
