Our Canine Carnival keeps getting bigger and better!

Water is a bit chilly so I would hold off on sensitive dogs till next week.
Luckily we have some warm days coming so we should be perfect for the weekend!!!

Anyone have railroad ties lying around? I know Jill Bays and what a few I need to pick up, when the smoke clears, literally. I convinced Dave to let me use the jeep to get them lol not having my truck running sucks!

Good morning and happy Monday!!!
Here is what is going on here-
We are still under evac warnings but the fire is getting under control. The NW flank (the threat to our friends in Pinon Hills and the North east flank- although not a threat to us now, could be a problem if it isn't contained before the warm weather comes back mid week.
We have pretty much no smoke or ash falling right now, the humidity is def helping with that as well. Temps have been MUCH cooler the last day or so and today is supposed to low 60's
Good news is there is a good chance all things will return to normal soon, it is very empty here without the horses, cows and sheep! We even have two new lambs!
BAd news- it has been pretty chilly at night which means the pool may be a bit chilly for beginning swim until Thursday- but if you have a cold hardy breed- they should be fine.
I know we still have a lot of families displaced, and the ones back in homes are probably exhausted. We also still have road closures so anyone coming from the south will have to detour up to Main St off the 15 and come in that way.
With all that being said- I need to know if anyone is interested in classes tomorrow or if we need some recovery time. I need at least 3 dogs to hold class, so please rsvp below in the comments and we will make decisions this afternoon.

Let's look at some positive news-Look at the new training yard!!!!!!!
For those of you that are new to High Desert Dog Sports- in 2020, while on set for America's Top Dog with my Rogue, I got the call that my offer on our new 20 acre piece of land was accepted!!!
My dream to create the largest, dedicated Dog sporr facility in the Southwest was coming to fruition.
Who knew it would take 2 years of battles with the county , moving up to the county supervisor, to get permits to "walk dogs on dirt" !!! But with the support of all of our loyal friends- we won!!!!
On Aug 7th, 2023 - with the largest support for any project the county has seen- we were granted our minor use permit!!!!!!
Since then we have-
Built a 50x60 obedience yard
Planted over 30 trees
Laid over 800 ft of water line,
Added 3 storage Containers
Added the basics for our new 100x100 agility yard
Built our Ruff Run Obstacle Course
Hosted Fetch Trials
Hosted multiple NASDA Trials
But this week started the most exciting part of our project, at least for me.....
Worked has not only begun but is almost finished on our new 100x200 fenced training yard!!!!!!! This will allow use to host UKC Trials here at home and not pay for venues, it will serve as parking once the new dock and pool are built (we have a way to go on that one) we are also planning to add disc events as well as being able to host all levels of fetch Trials. The possibilities are endless!!! We will also be leveling the agility yard to be able to start classes back up in the fall!!!
Want to be a part of this amazing project!! There is still a lot to do!!! We will need to fence the training field, and the agility yard.
We also need to get another storage container for the training yard. And one that will be used as our dock for the new dock diving set up.
We are looking for sponsors to help with the financial aspects as well as labor to reduce the cost of building.
Sponsorships start as low as $1500 to have your banner displayed for an entire year in the location of your choice!!!! Advertise your business, breeding kennel, your pups accomplishments, memorial, what ever you feel moved to share!
You can also sponsor the entire training yard, agility yard, Dock and Pool, Barn Hunt or parking areas and you will have multiple banners as well as have your company announced at events.

Fire update for today. Our official updates have been very infrequent which is disappointing. So all I can say is what I see here.
The west flank of the fire has been very active today which is scary- we have lots of friends on that end and we pray that all goes well. They have been able to hold the fire at the ridge before it drops down into the houses so that is amazing. As long as it doesn't come over the ridge all is well.
The weather has been very cooperative and it is supposed to remain cooler- mid 80s through the weekend and even as low as 60s as a high for monday!!!! That should help a ton.
The north east side which is closest to us seems to be fairly quiet- I am not seeing a lot of brown smoke or plumes so I think it is good news but it may also be because it is cooler and the smoke is laying down more.
Hoping for more official updates, but so far we are cautiously optimistic!

You have to be kidding me- another fire close by and they are requesting 4 tankers and a copter. What a mess. This fire is down the hill, but resources are so thin right now 😫

Well guys we are now under an official Evac warning- no order yet. But we went and grabbed more kennels to set up the trailer for chickens, etc.
Jackery is charged and ready to run chick incubators . Cats are locked up so if we have to grab them it will be easy. A few major flare ups causing concern and it is way too windy. Please pray for all those in the path of this monster- it is way out of hand and no way they have enough resources- most important is the towns of wrightwood and pinon hills.
The sounds of the sirens are eerie- there is not much a small fire engine can do on this mess.
Hoping the 138 is a sufficient fire break so they can concentrate trate o. The western side.
Pics are from the top of our rd near the property. Neighbors have the key to the property gate for firefighter access if needed, if they leave they will leave the gate unlocked.

I am going to preemptively cancel classes for thursday- I doubt this will be cleared. The fire is making a hard run and is getting close to the town of wrightwood.
I have the Livestock trailer hooked up if anyone needs help.
We are getting a LOT of smoke and ash, but no real fore threat since we are in town farther.
Right now it is really dark outside due to the smoke with an ugly orange hue.
Please everyone pray for those affected- including some of our own.

Vegas was my mom's dog, and my mom was my best friend. When she passed , Vegas came to live with me. He has done videos including our favorite one - "toss ot" with @snoopdogg @neffthepharaoh and @tooshort !! It took a while for Vegas to find a sport he wanted to play, but after 6+ years he chose dock diving!! He did so well at his first trial- he earned his Novice title and got an invite to NADD Southwest Regionals! To match his new rock star personality-, he got a make over- new, cool travel water bucket, new hairdo, and the most AMAZING collar designed by @noruffs !! This is a very special collar dedicated to my mo.- she loved Las Vegas! So I wanted this collar to reflect that, I cried when I opened the package- it was perfect! So off to New Mexico we went with the team from @highdesertdogsportsphelan !!!! @fueled by @proplan And @doggyradeunleashed!!! The DRU was really important to keep him in top shape after a LOOOOONG drive! Vegas LOVES being one of the big dogs!! He struts around like the rock star that he is!! And guess what????? HE EARNED AN INVITE TO NADD NATIONALS!!!
