Robert wanted to show yall how he is doing on his leash training. Sometimes, he is slow to sit when we stop (he gets quicker as the walk continues, and he starts to remember what he is supposed to do), but I think he is coming along great and his new family will have a great foundation to build upon 😊 Robert DOES have a family and is NOT available. **Also, yes, I'm aware the collar slipped out of place, this isn't perfect, and blah blah blah. I'm just trying to get him comfortable walking on a leash with something around his neck, learn some basic manners, and build his confidence so he doesn't fall behind until his forever family can take him home. So if we happen to have any puppies that haven't found their forever families by a certain age, once they've had their 2nd set of vaccinations, I start to take them on walks and work with them on their leash skills. Now Marie (in the video) has found her forever family, but we wanted to show off what we have been working on. Ideally, I want them to walk on my left side, no pulling, obey any "leave it" commands, stop when I stop & sit, and not start walking again until I start and give the "come" command. I think Marie did AMAZING, especially at the end she really gets in the groove of things. WAY TO GO TEDDY!!! And WAY TO GO to his mom and dad as well!!! Nothing makes my breeder heart happier than when I see families putting in the work and making their Dane a wonderful ambassador for their breed 🥰 You can never start too early, and in my opinion, training and socialization should never end. #puppyplaytime in the kitchen tonight to do more desensitization to common kitchen noises like clanking dishes, banging pots/pans, running dishwasher, garbage disposal, blender, etc (I obviously wasn't doing all that during the video because I figured that would be annoying for yall to listen to 😂). Tomorrow we will work more with desensitization to the vacuum cleaner while we play.
