The is doing AMAZING in their big kid area. Tomorrow I'll take away the front two litter boxes, add their elevated bed, and some more toys. Some puppy families ask if litter box training will confuse their puppy when it comes to house training them and from all of the feedback we have gotten our puppies are actually extremely easy to house train. We litter box train to keep our puppies in a clean environment. It also helps train their brain to not just "eliminate" anywhere when the urge hits them. That they need to hold it until they get to their designated area. When they are with us their designated area is their litter box. So all their new families need to teach them is that their new designated area is outside. It's a very simple transition because our puppies will show you that they need to use the restroom. They will be searching for their designated area, and after shown a few times to go to the door, will often go to the door to express to their families they need to go out. So yes, families will still have to put work into house training their puppy, but with them being litter box trained it will not make it harder, and often times it makes it much easier 😊

The had their official 5 wk old pics, 5th nail trim, and 2nd round of Toltrazuril (coccidia prevention) today. I'm very happy to report that everyone is doing GREAT, and they are all feeling much better from their episode of getting sick from Dottie's milk that they went through between week 3 and 4. They have all bounced back, are eating great, and are gaining weight. Praise Be 🙌 I have also gotten their "big kid" area set up, and they have graduated to there since they're doing so well with their litter box training. We appreciate everyone's prayers and well wishes for these guys last week. Your support was very appreciated 🥰

in the kitchen tonight to do more desensitization to common kitchen noises like clanking dishes, banging pots/pans, running dishwasher, garbage disposal, blender, etc (I obviously wasn't doing all that during the video because I figured that would be annoying for yall to listen to 😂). Tomorrow we will work more with desensitization to the vacuum cleaner while we play. Hopefully our new puppy tunnel and balance boards will arrive this weekend to add to our desensitization, problem solving skills, learning, and overall fun 😁

is exhausting 😴 Even though this litter has been very challenging, I love them with every fiber of my being. If you want to be a breeder you have to have a passion for your breed. A deep down passion for your breed that endures tests and time, because trials and tribulations will come..... time and time again. I truly appreciate all the kind words regarding the hard times we have had with our current litter and I know I have other breeder friends that have endured similar hardships and I want yall to know I always pray for yall when I see yall are going through similar situations. To all our other followers, thank you as well 🥰 I appreciate your kind words and well wishes. It would be so easy for someone to be nasty on social media, but yall have been so kind and I truly appreciate it 💗

The had their official 4wk old pics, 4th nail trim, and 2nd round of dewormer on Thursday. Last week was a rough one here at Southern Grace to say the least. Most people think that breeding is nothing but cuddles and puppy breath, but in reality it's often a lot of worry, stress, sleepless nights, tears, money, cleaning, sacrifice, missed holidays, time away from family/friends, and heartache. That was definitely the past week for us. This litter has been a challenge from the start. From Dottie having her pups 4 days early, to losing 7 pups during labor, to her having to have an emergency c-section, and this past week she developed an infection in her milk that passed to her pups and made them sick. Luckily we have an amazing vet and we got them on antibiotics and anti diarrhea meds quickly and everyone is now gaining weight again and doing well. I had 5 days/nights where I didn't go to bed until 4am because I was up cleaning, feeding, cleaning, feeding, cleaning, feeding..... so all prayers for a smooth and uneventful next 4 wks would be greatly appreciated. Also, I could have kept all that to myself, but I like to be honest and transparent but any negativity won't be tolerated.

The had their official 3wk old pics, 3rd nail trim and 1st round of toltrazuril (coccidia prevention) today. They also started litter box training yesterday and are taking pretty well to it so far. We have tried to start mush but they aren't wanting to transition quite yet. We will try again in a few days and hopefully they will take to it and we can actually get some cute pics. They would literally have nothing to do with it when we tried it yesterday and today 🫤

The had their 1st bath today and they didn't hate it as much as you would think 3 wk olds would. Debra even kept going and sitting under the running faucet no matter how many times I moved her (I was afraid she would inhale the water). She's a little spitfire for sure 🔥 I'm definitely going to have my hands full with her 😂
