It’s Shelter Dog Saturday 🐶 Meet Toby 🐾 He is one of the longest residence at the Herkimer County Humane Society. Toby and I had so much fun out on the trail today. This big guy is all about finding the best scent in the neighborhood! He loves to get all the smells in. He’s also a huge fan of playing and fetch. It’s the weekend which means I had the pleasure of working with another pup at the shelter 🐶 Meet Cricket 🦗 She is a 5 year old Shepherd mix who is an absolute doll! This little lady has a zest for life and the world that surrounds her! Today we worked on her walking as well as refreshing some of the basics 🐾 Cricket is an absolute love bug and wanted all the love and affection I had to offer her. She did great today walking past people and bikes 🚴 Cricket is currently available at The Herkimer County Humane Society. I’m sure she’d love some visits from potential adopters! He looks to be a boxer/mastiff mix and is still so full of life and love ❤️ On our walk today Sylvester did great on the leash and took in all the smells and sights around him. Grizz and Major
As many of you know I volunteer my time at the Herkimer County Humane Society working with the dogs on their leash manners 🐾
Today I had the pleasure of meeting bonded pair Grizz and Major 💕
These two boys are some of the longest residents at the shelter and I don’t understand why. They are both sweet love bugs, they are smart (catching on to things very quickly), and they walk great on the leash!
These boys would make a great addition to a family. They are a bonded pair so they must be adopted together!
To help these boys find a home and make their transition smoother I’m offering 15% off of a 4 week training package to whoever adopts them!

Meet Slate 🖤
Slate is one of the dogs at the Herkimer Humane Society that I have the pleasure of working with!
Slate has never really been walked on a leash, as he was found with his 6 other siblings living in crates out in a poll barn before being rescued.
Slate has made tremendous strides in just 1 training session. You can see he’s staying in a heel better and giving more focus to me! There’s definitely room for improvement but this is a great start for Slate.

Did you know that owner and sole operator of Pinnacle Canine, Tori Marro volunteers her time at the Herkimer County Humane Society?!
I volunteer my time training the dogs at the shelter because it helps them develop and learn skills that will lead to success in their forever homes!
Also working with these dogs helps me sharpen my skills and gives me the opportunity to work with many different dogs displaying many different behaviors.
If you’re looking for a great way to get involved in your community and build lasting relationships then I highly recommend volunteering at your local shelter. Many shelters are understaffed and don’t have the time to get their dogs out and exercised.
I’m so thankful to the staff at The Herkimer County Humane Society for giving me the opportunity to work with their amazing dogs as well as make a positive impact on the community!
