Fun Fact Friday!

In the 14th century, Italian sailors discovered the Bichon Frise while exploring the Canary Islands. They were immediately captivated by the breed’s beauty and brought them back to Italy. From there, the breed basically spread throughout Europe and became popular in France, where they earned the nickname “Bichon à poil frisé,” which translates to “curly-haired lap dog.”

This breed looks exceptionally well with the right grooming! Their curly hair demands for a more high maintenance lifestyle. Luckily our groomers at AHSM have the Bichon haircut down to a tea!

Meet the Staff Monday!

Our amazing former Rehabilitation therapist and now technician, Lauren!

She has been with us for about a year and a half now. Her favorite thing about AHSM is the diversity of services we provide, and the knowledge she gains with working in rehab. One thing she aspires to do is to get into behavior/ training education with canines! Lauren has three fur babies at home named Rusa, Bronson, and Maurice. Her hobbies include hiking and camping with her dogs of course!

A fun fact about her is that she can play the piano. (Pretty well if you ask me)

Let’s all say hi to the enchanting Lauren! 🪷

With that being said…
Spaying or neutering your cat can help them live longer. Spayed females live 39% longer and neutered males live 62% longer than cats who haven’t had the procedure.

We would love to meet your new kitty this month and get them started on the path to being a healthy adult. By getting them their essential vaccines and fixed.

Fun Fact Friday…

As many of you have probably seen, we have a new clinic cat named Woody! 💚
He is a lovable 14 year old sweetheart. He enjoys to sit in places he shouldn’t, lick his cat nip toy, and eerily yowls to announce his presence.

We love all our feline friends that come in and felt this would be a perfect place for him to spend his retirement years at!

Woody is here to welcome you and ask for cuddles!

Fun fact Friday!
Norwegian Elkhounds are one of the oldest dog breeds in the world. Emerging as early as 5,000 B.C., their skeletons have been found at the same sites as Vikings.
Also here at AHSM we love to see puppies grow from their very first visit to their last booster visit! This pup right here is a Norwegian Elkhound named Cashew! 🤍🤍
He is a fan favorite!

Did you know that less than 10% of the pets that are unchipped will return home each year?

A microchip is a secure, reliable, permanent identification for your pet and the process is simple and affordable. Microchipping your pet can help ensure that if your pet goes missing, they can be identified and find their way back to you.

If your pet is chipped, make sure their information is up to date. To help keep pets close to their loved ones, share this post and remind your friends to !
