It’s been a busy week for Heart’n Soul! These pitty puppies have been keeping me and my boys on our toes!
And, yes, Deuce is just fine to be around them. MONITORED, of course.

With this many guests it is extremely important that I keep my eyes on all the dogs 😉😉 We implement crate and rest time and each pair of dogs who get along get alternated playtime both in and outdoors 🫶🏻

Heart’n Soul has a home 🤭🤭 I still have to finish some things up for the next two months but come October the dogs and I will be in a location offering grooming and a modified version of doggie daycare that I’ll be calling PoochPreschool!

Everything will be by appointment only and my grooms will mostly be focusing on dogs who don’t do well in traditional salon settings! Feel to reach out with any questions regarding if your dog qualifies for the program! I highly encourage you to enroll in training with Duane at Eyes On Your Dog. That will ENSURE your dog(s) have a spot in my program.

Hey guys I’m running a special for the month of August!!!! If you have any donations for the animal shelter or wanna go buy some things like food and cleaning supplies for Grand Strand Humane Society I’ll be giving out services for free for those of you who do so! You can choose between a nail trim, an outing, a full bath, I’ll even paint nails on the dogs who allow it 😎

My goal is to fill my car by the end of the month so I can unload and entire car full into their donation box 🫶🏻 I’ve been out of the donation spirit for awhile since I was dealing with rescues and sick animals but with Monty and Peanut gone and my rescues taken care of it’s time to get back to work helping the community 🙌🏻🙌🏻

For those of you who’ve donated before you can literally just throw it on my grandparents porch, those of you haven’t or don’t have time to just dm me!!!

Why is it legal to bust a car window to save a dog but it’s not legal to enter an abandoned house to save a dog?

I spent my Sunday afternoon and evening with another Animal Welfare Advocate trying to figure out how to legally get this dog out of this house where he’d been abandoned for an extended amount of time with no electricity in 90 degree weather. Luckily someone was able to convince the owner to surrender the dog my myself, my vet tech friend, and the dogs new foster but the reality of the situation is…. had she not agreed to let us help, I would be facing felony charges right now. I cannot in good conscience leave a dog in a situation like that. I had made up my mind. I was 36 hours away from catching a charge and I think that’s ridiculous on South Carolina’s part. The laws NEED TO CHANGE. This entire situation was a s**t show from start to finish up until the previous owner agreed to hand him over. Animal control was no help. The cops were no help. If you care enough and wanna help us advocate to change the laws please direct message me so we can discuss how you can help.

Thank god this sweet boy got the happy ending he deserves and he’s out of that house for good and onto a new life with his new foster dad. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THOSE OF YOU IN THE COMMUNITY WHO BROUGHT ATTENTION TO THIS. It takes a village.

And to whoever convinced them to let us help.. thank you so much cause I’m terrified to go to jail but was gonna do it for this dog if I had to 😭😭 So truly thank you thank you thank you for that 🫡🥲

Hey hey hey!!! Peach had an awesome visit with the vet today! We’ve been cleared to schedule her spay AND CRAZY ENOUGH they have availability Friday !!! I went ahead and agreed to bring her in but I was anticipating a few more weeks to save up for the procedure as they’re usually booked a month or so in advanced for surgeries, so with that being said if anyone would like to help out with Peach’s procedure all donations can be made directly to Murrells Inlet Vet under the account name of Hannah Osborne.

I have decided to pull Deuce from his private lesson with a famous dog trainer so I can have a refund and I will be using that $300 toward the procedure so I think I can get by with maybe $200 worth of donations just to be safe. I always try to have $150 more than the estimate they give me.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS DONATED SO FAR!!! Your contributions have helped this girl drastically! She’s almost ready to start looking for a forever home!!! Spread the word!

I just wanna take a moment to recognize all the people who’ve been bringing their dogs to me since the beginning and even the ones I’ve met along the way as well. For over 3 years I have had the privilege of driving all over town for drop ins and walks, working in different salons, and rescuing whatever dogs need me at the time and none of that would have been possible without you guys. If you didn’t repeatedly use my services I wouldn’t be where I am today. I wouldn’t be learning to groom or train, I wouldn’t have the resources to save dogs, I’d probably be working at Target or something honestly.

With that being said I would like to officially announce that I am going to be working on a location for Heart’n Soul 🫶🏻 I never thought I’d be taking it in that direction but it just feels like the right thing to do so while it is still very early in the works, stay tuned for my updates and again THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I love all your animals like my own and I can’t wait to start this new chapter with them 🥲🥹🫶🏻

Our Rescue Peaches skin update! The first photos were taken around May 7th, the last two photos were taken about an hour ago! I couldn’t be happier with the progress. After two capstars, a monthly flea pill, several flea/mud baths, and a daily handful of antibiotics she’s just about ready to go 😁 A shout-out to Murrells Inlet Veterinary Hospital for helping me get this girl on the right track! Dr. Meggan never disappoints 😁😁

Pebbles update! I’m calling her Peach for now! I took her to the vet about a week ago to start getting her on the right track medically and she’s been settling in ever since! Her skin is clearing right up! She’s learned how to use the stairs, she’s learned how to get in and out of the car, she’s halfway crate trained but we’re dealing with some separation anxiety, and we’re also working on accepting strangers from a distance. She’s gonna be just fine in a home with someone with patience and understanding of dogs with her temperament. I’m really proud of her.
I’m planning on taking her back to the vet Friday at 8:20 for her next round of shots and also to consult them about scheduling her appointment to get spayed!!!! As SOON as she heals from that I’ll be screening potential adopters!

I am still accepting donations toward her medical bills so if you’d like to help out you can call Murrells Inlet vet directly to put credits on my account! I’ve attached in the photos what we did at her last appointment, the cost of it, and the estimate to get her fixed. The estimate to get her fixed does not include what Fridays appointment is going to cost and I only have $200 as of right now so any little bit helps! Please share this and help me get this sweet girl out there!!!!! She’s gonna be ready to find her forever people before we know it!!!!

First and foremost we’re gonna be focusing on medical care and that is 100% gonna be expensive so we are gonna be accepting donations. You can drop cash at Surfs Pup or you can venmo me with the tag LOUSLEGACY:PEBBLES so I can keep track of what’s going into my Lou’s legacy bank account! Any little bit helps and we will be happy to provide receipts to anyone who donates!! Once she’s established at Murrells Inlet Vet you can also call them directly to donate! I prefer that.

More updates to come on her medical status and personality soon! We’re just taking some time to let her decompress and get to know us! She’s currently terrified and is gonna need to be rehabilitated before finding a home!!!!!!!
