We wanna say a big thank you to Callanan Industries and Ulster County for all the donations they have brought us! Blake, Beth, and Keith were kind enough to deliver all the donations to us, every little bit helps the shelter out tremendously! Not only the staff appreciates it but so do all of the animals! Trees to be auctioned off at our 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝘄𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 on December 6th. Trees can be dropped off any day beginning Friday November 8th after 11am at Theodore's Restaurant in Canastota!

Hi it’s me again Prestella! I’m still here at the shelter! Patiently waiting for my furever home! I would do best in a home with no dogs and maybe 1-2 other kitty friends! But a house by myself would be even better!!
I just need a home where I can be Queen Bee! Also to just look out some windows and sleep in hee woth you at night! I have been at the Shelter since 4/3/24. That is 7 months! I’m not sure why I get passed up so much! I’m just a little girl with a big personality!
Currently I am in a foster home! A volunteer decided to let me stay with her for a little bit just to get me some time outta the shelter!
This picture was taken when I did a visit for Whisker Wednesdays! I’m also tv famous I made an appearance on Bridgestreet!

Sleepover time!!!!
Gene here is one of our shelter dogs who unfortunately hasn't had much interest and has been in the shelter for almost 2 months now, so some staff decided to give him a break and brought Gene home for a little sleepover! Let me tell you, he absolutely loved it!! He got to cuddle on a bed, have his very own blankets, play with all of his foster sisters toys, and he got to meet these strange things called cats! This sleepover actually got us to learn a lot about Gene in a short amount of time, we learned that he is fantastic with dogs and would do good in a home with another, we also learned that Gene, as interesting and or weird as he thinks they are, likes cats! So he is good to go into a home with even cats! He was hanging out with two of them while here! We also learned that Gene is potty trained!! Gene waited and gave his foster family signals while staying the night and made no messes! This boy is so perfect and goofy how has no one snatched him up yet?! Gene is a little shy at first when meeting new people or entering a new environment but he does open up you just have to be willing to give him some time! Gene is an amazing boy deserving of his own furever home! Interested in adopting Gene? Call! Put in an application! Or come in to visit! We are open Tuesday-Friday 12-5pm, Saturday-Sunday 10-3pm! Male pit/boxer mix found in the Town of Sullivan on Route 5 near Canaserga Rd! He came with a seresto flea collar on and an orange collar! If you have any information on an owner please call the shelter and help us get this boy back to his owner!
‼️Dog MUST be up to date on his rabies and have a current license in order to redeem!‼️

I'm gonna sit right here until someone decides to take me home. And I'm NOT moving! 😤😂
Everyone meet Rigatoni!!! Rigatoni is a newbie here at the shelter and he just became available! This gentle giant is a pitbull mix who just LOOoooOOOves Love! He will be all over you trying to get as many kisses, butt scratches, and snuggles as he can get! We are trying to do something we have never achieved before in the next two months! We want to see the shelter empty for the holidays! Every cat and dog like Rigatoni deserves to be in their own furever home for the holidays! So if your interested in Rigatoni or any other furry friend from the shelter call! Put in an application! Or even come in to visit! We are open Tuesday-Friday 12-5pm, and Saturday-Sunday 10-3pm! We would like to say a huge thank you to Nicki and her fur mom Doreen! These two donated a ton of blankets to us to help keep the shelter pups warm! Thank you for all that you do to support us! It means so much!
If you all would like to donate as well you can drop off donations during open hours right at front desk or we have a blue donation bin outside that you can put them in! Again thank you all so much!

After Halloween night comes the close of October meaning the results are in for the month! This month we have adopted out 38 cats and 17 dogs!! What is even more amazing is that there are 6 pairs of cats that went into a home together!! We did amazing this month with all your guys help! So many pets were lucky enough to find their furever home... But now we have a huge goal for the next two months.... We want to try and empty the shelter!!! It's never been done before but we want to try it! And what better time to try then for the holidays! Every animal deserves their own furever home and family! Especially for the holidays! So come on help us make a first and empty the shelter completely! If your interested in helping us out and getting a new cuddly cat or happy go lucky dog into a home?! Call! Put in an application!
