PUPDATE: ADOPTED!
After 3 long weeks of delays, they are finally here! 🐾 Meet Sienna, Sweetie, and Owen! 😍 Just got everyone settled for the night. Longest 12 hour day ever. Played in the park with the retrievers from , got their first baths, freedom ride, vet checkups, ate quality food, made friends, and got their own warm beds 🥰 They are safe, loved, happy, and free 🥺 So grateful 🥲 More to come tomorrow. For now, we rest.. Goodnight 😴

Great news!! After weeks of delays, our Spaniels & Retrievers are finally en route to South Florida!! 🤩 We can't wait to meet them!! 😍 Here is the first of the bunch to be adopted via My Why Rescue, Georgia aka Sybil, in her new home in Virginia 🥹 So happy for her! 😁 Anxiously awaiting the arrival of the rest, especially our 3 Spaniels: Owen, Sienna, & Sweetie! 🥰

Ace is a 10 month old 10 lb male terrier mix pup. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, & potty trained (+ p*e pads). Ace likes to go for walks & play with squeaky or chew toys. He can be skittish/nervous, fearful, and protective at times. Ace was abused by a prior long term dog sitter and now has some trust issues. 😞 Due to this, he is a cutie but can be 10 lbs of fiesty attitude at times. He takes a while to warm up but once he does he likes belly rubs, giving kisses, and sleeping in your bed under the covers. Ace needs a patient, loving, calm home to show him the safe love he deserves. Update on the meat market survivor Spaniels 🐾 Awaiting the first 3, trying to help the other 8

We are finalizing adopters & anxiously awaiting the arrival of the first 3 Spaniels: Owen, Sienna, & Sweetie. We'll be closing applications for them as we begin to wrap things up. We're waiting on the last of their paperwork to be approved so they can cross. We expect them to be here in a week or less. Saw videos of them today and can't wait til they're finally here! 😁

Now we're looking towards these remaining 8 to see how many we can help before the border closes Sept 28th. This will be the last trip before then. After that we'll have to wait until November to help any others (possibly longer, still unsure at this point). These specific dogs may or may not still be available by then. If you're interested in adopting any of these Spaniels, please let us know as soon as possible. We need to get the process started in order to get them in time, so we're trying to decide who to bring over.

How do you decide which dogs to save? 💔 It's one of the hardest decisions to make 😔 and even harder than usual in this scenario.. but without any committed pre-adopters yet and not enough donations for the expensive transport costs, we can only move forward with 3 of the 11 meat market survivor Spaniels at the moment 💔😔

Meet Sienna, Sweetie, & Owen ❤ Sienna is a 3 yr old 22 lb F Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Sweetie is a 1 yr old 17 lb F Cavalier/Papillion Spaniel mix. Owen is a 3 yr old 33 lb M Cocker Spaniel. They're all spayed/neutered, vaccinated, & dog friendly.

These are the 3 with the most inquiries. They will be here approx Sept 9-11th. They are all available for pre-adoption. I'm heartbroken but as a small non-profit foster-based rescue, without pre-adopters for them, we cannot afford to transport the other 8 without your help.

Happy National Dog Day! 🐾 Here are some pictures of meat market survivor Goldens recently rescued by our partner My Why Rescue 🥺 Meet Vera, Marlon, & Marlene. This is Why we do it! 🥲

I had the chance to meet beautiful Vera at breakfast with Kristine from My Why the other day & hear her story. It was heartwarming & reaffirmed Why I wanted to help these dogs coming out of horrific conditions 💔 Kristine described it as "one of the most rewarding rescue experiences" you can have.. ❤

Please help us give these Spaniels the same chance at a new life! We cannot do it without your help! 🙏🏼 We still really Urgently need pre-adopters, transport donations, and fosters! 🙏🏼 As a small rescue without a facility, we can only help a few without committed pre-adopters. The transport costs are not cheap. We have committed to 3 but really want to help more (there are 11). We're running out of time for this batch. We have to decide this weekend which dogs we want, since they will arrive in approx 2 weeks. The border closes Sept 28th & everything after that is uncertain. 😰 My Why Rescue will again be rescuing Goldens & Labs. If interested please contact them.

Happy National Dog Day! 🐾 For us it's every day 😊 Today we got to see one of our Save A Pet alumni dogs, Zeus, and his new family! 💙 We love seeing our babies living happily ever after in their new homes! 😍 It makes all of the stressful long days & sleepless nights worth it. URGENT! 🆘 Please SHARE! ⏳ Hi Save A Pet family (+ fellow Spaniel lovers)! We have an amazing last minute opportunity to save lives from a horrific dog meat market overseas 💔😩 But we really need to secure pre-adopters (or raise funds for transport)!

We're looking to team up with another local rescue, My Why Rescue, in order to save as many dogs as possible. But we need your help! Overseas transport is not cheap. We're trying to find pre-adopters & raise money in donations to help us transport these babies to safety. Time is of the essence! However many dogs we're able to save will be arriving around Sept 8-11 so we don't have much time. After Sept 28 the border will be closed & we aren't sure we'll be able to save any after that. 😰

We are looking for pre-adopters (or fosters, fosters to adopt, or donations for transport)! Any Spaniel lovers? 🐾 These are some of the dogs that are currently available for us to save. *We do Not have them yet.* We have to secure pre-adopters and fundraising for their expensive overseas transport first. The more committed adopters we have & the more money we raise, the more of them we can save. We really would like to save them all but unfortunately it's really expensive & we're a small (but passionate!) rescue so we need help to do so 😕🙏🏼

We had a great, very busy week of saving pets here at Save A Pet! 🐾 First, we got the abandoned LW Beagle Joe Holyfield 👂🏼 out of the shelter & into a foster to adopt home 🤞🏼 Then, our only cat left, Rocky, got adopted into his furever home (he'd been with us 3 months)! 😻 Tucker, our sweet Basset bully mix pup, also found his furever family. Two unsuspecting kids were very happy with their surprise! 😁 Sparky & Joe went to vet appts with Dr. Z at All Animal Care Clinic. Tucker, Sparky, and Joe all had meet & greets. Last but not least, we had an amazing day at our adoption event yesterday at Pet Diagnostics! Mother daughter bonded terriers, Coco & Pichincha, finally found their furever home! 😍 (They were also with us 3 months!) Ace went to a foster to adopt home 🤞🏼 His brother Archie is still available. 3 dogs & 1 cat in furever homes & 2 dogs in foster to adopt homes! 🤩 Woohoo! 🥳 Wishing them all a lifetime of love! 🥰🥲 Pictures coming..

Meet Ace & Archie! 💙 They are 10 month old 8 lb male terrier mix puppies. Both are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and potty trained (plus p*e pads). They both enjoy playing with squeaky toys and going for walks on the beach. Other than that, these pups are very different. They have quite the sibling rivalry & often get into little tifs. Sadly, they may have also had some prior abuse from a long term dog sitter. :( Archie is dominant & seems to stifle Ace's personality. We think they will do way better when adopted separately.

Ace is shy, calm, loving, and likes to cuddle & nap. He can be skittish/nervous at times or protective. Sweet Ace needs a patient, calm home to show him the safe love he deserves. Do you think you're the one that can help Ace come out of his shell?

Archie is energetic, playful, and goofy. He is more independent and can be protective at times. Playful Archie needs an active, loving home. Do you think you're the one for fun Archie?
