We are very saddened to learn about the passing of Katniss. She was one of the first rescues Alaina raised funds for. She also was one of the main reasons Alaina wanted to grow Pink for Pigs to help as many rescues as possible. We will forever be thankful to Arthur's Acres Animal Sanctuary for taking care of Katniss all of these years. Thank you for showing her the care and love she deserved.

I don’t even know how to express the heartbreak we are feeling right now . I am trying to figure out how to breathe without her smile to look forward to .
She was tired and knew she was leaving us . She made sure she said goodbye to her love King Karl , spent the day in the pasture enjoying the sun , mud and grass .
I really thought we had more time but she had other plans .
She went very quietly surrounded by the ones she loved .
I am trying my best to put my feeling into words but I am failing because I can’t see beyond the tears .
She was loved by all , Queen Katniss you made your mark and will be missed by many .
You fought your whole life now it’s time for you to be at peace .

Oh boy. They are at it again. Gotta love these messages we keep getting. 😂 Don't these low life's have anything better to do with their time? If anyone sends you a message like this, do yourself a favor and DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS! They send these messages with the hopes that you will think it's a serious message from Meta but in reality it's a complete scam. Protect yourself by ignoring messages from people you do not know, not clicking links in messages and by having two factor authentication on all of your accounts.

A miracle for the future.

This is Alaina’s story. What is yours?

Born 3 1/2 months premature, Alaina’s parents were told she had a less than 2% chance of survival. Alaina was strong willed from day one and she was determined to prove the doctors wrong. After a lengthy stay in the critical care nursery she was finally able to come home!! That was the best day ever!!

One month later Alaina faced another health issue that required surgery. She recovered quickly and things were ok for a while, but then Alaina’s parents just knew something was wrong. Alaina wasn’t growing and gaining weight like she should have been and Alaina’s parents were not getting answers from Alaina’s team of physicians. They did not give up. At the age of 2 Alaina still was not talking. After months and months of research Alaina’s mom strongly felt Alaina was suffering from a gluten intolerance. Alaina’s parents went against the physicians advice and removed all gluten containing food from Alaina’s diet. Within 5 days, Alaina went from only being able to say mama, dada, and bubba to being able to say hello, goodbye, strawberry and Mickey Mouse. After a month, Alaina was speaking just as well as any other 2 year old, she was gaining weight and was starting to catch up in growth.

Alaina fought some tough battles but she did not give up!!
