This is some very important exercises. In my opinion, Rear leg awareness is so very beneficial to all dogs. No matter what your training for.
It also allows handles to fine tune their handling skills.
This is 1 of 3.

This was a fun lesson from earlier in the summer
. The lab puppy was the subject. Dr. Cook takes her dog to work so it was very important to instill polite behavior when around other dogs. I was so impressed with the rest of the class. Each dog was very socially agressive prior to starting training. It's nice to work with dedicated handlers.
This is what I call the keep away.
It teaches so much.
In this video he's asked to return to front and center, the here command.
Also.
....imediate response to name.
....imediate response to come
( informal come to area)
.....teaches loose leash walking.
....teaches and encourages interaction for dogs that are not yet playing with reward toy or ball.
.....most important it keeps moral high and allows you get your dog to connect prior to doing anything formal. And allows for higher reps during training sessions.
Almost like lunging your horse. For you equine peeps.
A trainer is only as good as his/ her students.
The girl that owns this pup is amazing.
It's so important to trust your trainer and not deviate from the program. It's equally important to put in the work.
Not bad for a puppy!
This is what you get when you trust your trainer and do all your homework. This is Tanner.18 weeks old and 5 lessons into his training.
I'm so proud of his owner.
Super dedicated. Trusts my system , and videos all her homework so I can review prior to each lesson.
This is what brings you success.
Dog training isn't magic.

In this case we had to work on impulse control so we can go further with our obedience.
It's not what you or we want to do. It's what the dog needs us to do.
Some basic barn yard distractions.
