Kiger Dulcinea. 1/1/2000 - 7/24/2024
We lost Dulcie to severe impaction colic today. Dulcie was adopted in 2003 by my friend Lil, who gentled and trained her. She had 3 foals, a rangebred c**t named Dante, and 2 lovely fillies; Sofie sired by My Kiger Tiger and Stella, sired by Fuego. Dulcie was shown by Lil's daughter in 4H and attended several horse Expo's to promote Kigers. Dulcie came to live with me when she was about 10. She also lived with some friends for several years in Central Oregon, as the Western Washington climate wasn't good to her. She came back to me 5 years ago when I moved to Colville. Rest in Peace sweet girl. I will miss you so much. You were so loved and it was such a hard decision to make. Say hello to Ki for me. I bet he's happy to see you!

Home from another year at the Horse Breeds Showcase at the Puyallup Fair! 4 days promoting our Kigers to the public and helping people make memories they'll never forget. Desi ( HS My Hearts Desire ) and her foal Kiah ( Horse Springs Colitas) sired by Fuego, were a huge hit! We were joined this year by Ki's 4 year old son Fenix ( HS My Raven Krest) owned and trained by Stephanie Korhel. Fenix hasn't had many trips to town and considering all, he help up pretty darned well. Fun, exhausting and at times melancholy, another one chalked up to the memory of My Kiger Tiger, the literal love of my life.

Course Outlines:

🐎Equine Health and Emergency First Aid covering: conditioning your horse to accept treatment , vital signs, wounds, bandaging, colic, choke, collapse, hoof issues and more!

🐎Advanced Equine First Aid covering: conditioning, conformation, burns, trapped horse, sucking chest wounds, flail chest, impalement, fractures and more!

🐎 Safe Trailering
Keeping your horse safe is your number one priority. Is your trailer safe, and do you know what your horse experiences during a collision? What are the protocols, your responsibilities and liabilities when involved in an accident, and laws around hauling? Do you know if the size and layout of your trailer provides your horse comfort and stability, or if is putting strain on their body, leading to potential injury?

🐎Disaster Planning and Emergency Preparedness- A MUST for any livestock owner, this course will train you in fire prevention, planning for and executing safe evacuation procedures, hidden dangers and responding to first aid emergencies. It also covers what to do in natural disasters such as flooding, wildfires, ice storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, and more.
Don't be unprepared - we can help you help your animals. This course is suitable for any livestock operation, not just horses.

Full day classes count as CE for PATH International and EAGALA, IAABC

🐎Backcountry Trail Equine First Aid-This class is designed for the trail rider who needs to know Equine First Aid Basics while in a remote location. This three-hour course is a super condensed version of our Advanced Wilderness class and will cover; planning for your trail adventure including communication set up, what to pack etc, preparing your horse/horses for the trail including conditioning and how much they can pack, vital signs, wounds, bandaging, snake bite, fractures, and more!

🐎I Can Help Equine First Aid for Kids-
Developed for your Horse Crazy Kids ages 5-9. Spend three hours in a fun and supportive learning environment covering: Safety, The Rules of Horse First Aid, How to weigh their horse, cuts, tummy trouble, healthy feet , tips for keeping their horse in good health, and more!
