Meet Nadirah! She is a 4 month old catahoula mix who was rescued from an overcrowded southern shelter. Nadirah is the sweetest, most adaptable dog. She loves all people and dogs that she meets! She would be a fantastic addition to any home that she lands in.

Nadirah is currently in a foster home, and is looking for a furever home.

Nadirah is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm -.

Many of you know I am a big Disney fan & have done a couple of the 5K’s & 10K and I really want to push myself and complete a half marathon. I know myself and having a why behind it all will make it that much more achievable. Here is my why. August 31, 2009 my world changed forever. I got out of the shower on the first day of my Junior year, to my Dad and sister in tears and my Mom and Uncle’s voice downstairs in the kitchen. My heart stopped because I instantly knew what was coming next. My Dad looked at me and said “Erica’s gone, she’s not with us anymore”. I burst into tears and ran into my room to try and collect myself. I called my best friend and tried to choke the words out and lost it all over again. That first day of school my Junior year was a complete blur but I will never forget that morning.

Erica is my cousin and she was only 14 years old when she took her own life. My Uncle and Aunt adopted her when she was a baby and she struggled with self confidence and bullying for as long as I could remember. It was heartbreaking to watch her go through what she did because she was the kindest soul with a heart of gold for animals and my gosh was she beautiful. If only she could have seen herself the way the rest of the world did. No one, especially a child should ever have to go through what Erica went through. Every single person in this world deserves to know that they make a difference in this world and that they are worth it.

In honor of Erica, I’m participating in the DISNEY® Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend to fight su***de and support AFSP’s bold goal to reduce the su***de rate 20% by 2025.
