Folk (and if you are new to our shores, heads up!!) a few housekeeping notes FILLED with humor. Are you laughing yet?

National Purebred Dog Day (the day you go OUT into the public square with your dog to be an ambassador for purebred dogs) and our famed photo contest is 30 days way.

• It is a one day contest that happens on Facebook.

• There is no entry fee, we make no money. We do accept chocolate, especially Milk Chocolate Cadbury bars from gas stations outside of London.

• Our judges are David Frei, host of the Westminster KC Dog Show for 27 years, and now host of the Thanksgiving Day National Dog Show, and veteran Westminster KC Dog Show photographer, Jack Grassa. They are our friends. Don't p**s them off. We are THEIR friends. Don't p**s us off.

Unless there is homemade chocolate fudge. Moonshine Chocolate works every time.

• Prizes are donated by generous sponsors whom we appreciate more than chocolate. Yes, that much. And YES, we can still accept your sponsorship for another day or two;

• Any photo entry that does NOT include either a homemade sign or a downloaded one like what is seen in this photo WILL BE DISQUALIFIED (this photo was taken as a Fast CAT in 2022). THE SIGN CANNOT BE PHOTOSHOPPED OVER THE IMAGE. It must be part of your composition. Quit whining. We have good reasons. Remember? Don't p**s us off

• Right now, there are 16 different "challenges" (or maybe it's 140) each with a different "theme," and each challenge has different rules. ONLY ONE CONTEST does not require the dreaded sign.

You can start submitting your photo entries at 12:01 AM MST on May 1, 2024. Entries close at midnight MST on May 1, 2024. No exceptions unless you can time travel. If you can time travel, contact us privately.

From here on out, we will be sharing the different challenges with you every day. PLEASE SHARE THEM. We know it seems ho-hum now, but trust us on this. Looking at the entries is really pretty fun. Winning is funner, of course, and so is eating 1 lb of salted caramel fudge without gaining weight, but that's another post.

Can you please give us a thumbs up if you see this? We're getting reports that our posts are vanishing into the either.

Oh, and before we forget, you can see all the contests so far (along with their rules) at this link: https://nationalpurebreddogday.com/quick-list-of-all-2024-photo-challenges/

Do us all a favor. Read the freaking rules. It kills us when we see a fabulous entry that fails to meet the rules (usually NO SIGN).

We guess that's it - and just in case you're wondering, Moonshine Fudge is a real business. As we think about it, note to self: Contact them next year to sponsor a contest. Who agrees?

A glorious day for the Shamrock Run. Our dedicated staff of three arrived before dawn to set up our booth. The Irish Setter girls were dressed in their finest St Patrick's outfits for a busy day of picture taking at the MISA booth. The two Irish Setter boys, Jake and Bo, filled in as relief models later in the day.
