Doing a little snack prep. I like to give the pups some enrichment treats once and awhile. This time I did dog safe peanut butter, yogurt, blueberries and carrots. I’ll freeze them and then pull them out when I want to keep them busy for a bit. Great for a rainy or hot day when maybe you can’t get out for a walk. The sky’s the limit on what you can put in there. You can even put their meals to use as a slow feeder. What do you give your pups for snacks?

Voting is closed! Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart to everyone that voted. It truly means the world to me. I remember during covid I was so close to losing my business during lockdown. I was hanging on so tight to my dream but it seemed hopeless that things would ever go back to normal. Then I got a phone call saying I won first place. It might be a silly contest but it to me in those uncertain times it gave me that little boost to hang on and keep fighting like hell. I think we all need that once and awhile.

I don’t get the results until it’s published in the fall but I will be sure to keep everyone posted. Thank you so much!

Got the sad news that my pal Skip crossed the Rainbow Bridge while I was away. Skips family gave him a wonderful long life filled with love. He was the sweetest cat I’ve ever met. He loved affection and he purred like a motorboat. Skip only had 3 legs but he never let it stop him. Sometimes when he didn’t want me to leave he would race me to the door. I’m sorry to say that a 3 legged cat is in fact must faster than me 🤣 He greeted me at the door everyday when I went to get his sister Cassie for our walk. He liked to sit in the doorway and catch some sun while he watched for us to come back. When we did he would greet Cassie with cuddles and kisses. Skip will be missed by his family and me but most especially his sister. Cassie is very shy and doesn’t let many in her circle. I feel so bad for her that her brother is gone. Rest in the sweetest peace Skip 🐾🌈

You don’t realize how bad you need a vacation until you are on one. Stupidly I waited almost 8 months to even take a day off (not even one sick day either). A mistake I won’t make again. We all need and deserve time to rest and recharge. I had an amazing trip with my husband and pups. Our first really long road trip in the rv. We drove through Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and got to our destination in Cape Charles Virginia. We stopped in Hershey PA and on 2 different farms in New Jersey for a couple nights also. Drove in the truck and on the motorcycle on the 17 mile long Chesapeake Bay bridge. The pups loved swimming at the beach, chasing crabs, finding the cows and just getting to spend time with us. Bringing dogs on vacation with you definitely slows things down, but I think sometimes you need to slow down and just appreciate things. It was so fun to watch them experience new things. Can’t wait for our next adventure ❤️

Walks will be changed to bathroom breaks and play inside due to the storm. I would walk in the rain as usual but with the thunder and lightning it’s not with the risk for my buddies. George would like to remind everyone that stormy days are a great time to do puzzles. It keeps him entertained and he gets extra treats! Stay safe everyone.

It’s our baby Luke’s 1st bday. We were thinking of waiting a few years to get Leia a sibling. When Blue Star Golden Retrievers said that her exact parents had a litter and they were born on May 4th Star Wars day we knew our Luke was there and that it was meant to be. They are best friends and eachother shadows. Happy Birthday to my silly, sweet little boy 🎂🎉🥳 and May the 4th be with you!

Introducing my pals Kai and Rosie to the Lisa Takes the Lead Pack! These two are so sweet and so fun to hang around with. They are a little nervous on walks so we decided to start with playing in the yard for awhile first. Rosie is a one year old staffy mix who loves to play ball and runs so fast. Kai is a 10 year old pittie/jack rusell mix who loves butt scratches and belly rubs. Welcome Kai and Rosie!

I always discourage retractable leashes. People have the best intentions thinking it gives their dog more freedom but what it does is give you less control even with the best trained dogs. If a dangerous situation comes up like a lose dog charging at you or a car coming towards you it’s going to take you too long to reel that pup in. Also if pulled on hard enough it can break or even send your dog or you like a slingshot!

We had an absolute blast today at the Golden Strong Event. We met so many new friends! We did a walk around Boston Common, honored the memory of Spencer and Penny and raised money for canine cancer 💛💙

Rest assured dogs do NOT need to wear the protective glasses during the eclipse, Leia and Luke just borrowed mine for fun. (If I thought any of my pups needed them you know I would have bought then them for my babies and my pack) Dogs and other animals do not stare at the sun. The Eclipse is going to happen so quickly that animals shouldn’t even notice anything is happening at all. If you are concerned you can keep your pups indoors during that time but most likely you will be at work at that time anyway. My walks for the day should be over by the time it starts so I’m not concerned at all. Stay safe everyone and enjoy the show ☀️ 🌖 🌙 😎

Made some homemade Easter dog treats for my crew. My taste testers supervised me every step of the way. We did peanutbutter pumpkin and cranberry apple. I hope my pack enjoys them as much as Luke and Leia did.

Wondering what your dog walker does on the weekend? Very happy to have renewed my Pet CPR and First Aid certification this past Sunday with Tom is such a wonderful instructor and teachers you how to think outside the box and use household items to stabilize your pet or animal in need in an emergency until you can get to the Vet. If you are a Pet Parent or Pet Professional I highly recommend this class. Luckily I haven’t had to preform CPR in my 5+ years of dog walking but it’s a great comfort to know that in an emergency I can help my buddies and my own babies. If you use a dog walker/petsitter please make sure it’s someone CPR certified. Petcare apps or the neighborhood kid might not charge as much but do you really want them in an emergency?
